The band plays a style of ambient black metal that is not new or very much different musically from what has been done before (if you don’t count a couple of fiddle intros here and there) but they do so with such passion that they immediately stand out from most other bands who play this style of music. The distorted rhythms that create the general ambience of the album sound like they are being pummelled out with all the strength of the guitarist, out of his anger and pride in his music and homeland. Métal Noir Québecois is good, old fashioned black metal done right. With its passionate ideologies and musicianship to match, it is ready to takes its place among the classics of the genre.

The set list includes tracks spanning Bowie's 30 plus years in the music business, from The Man Who Sold the World (1970) all the way to Reality (2003), along with collaborations such as "Sister Midnight" (with Iggy Pop) and "Under Pressure" (with Queen). There is a bit more focus, however, on tracks from the albums released since the Earthling World Tour in 1997, Heathen (2002), and Reality, whose tracks constitute 10 of the 30 songs performed.

Penderecki's return to tonality generated a renewed interest in the symphonic form, the dramatic First Symphony of 1973 completing his restoration of melodic language. It was a style continued in the Second Symphony, commenced by the composer on Christmas Day 1979. The Fourth Symphony was commissioned by Radio France to mark the bicentenary of the French Revolution, the music moving between conflict and moments of reconciliation.
