DEEP PURPLE's Ian Gillan and BLACK SABBATH's Tony Iommi took everybody by surprise in 2011 by releasing a charity single, "Out Of My Mind", renewing the collaboration that led the pair to record an album in 1984, "Born Again", under the BLACK SABBATH moniker. For the occasion, the two rock legends called a few friends and were soon joined by Jason Newsted (METALLICA, VOIVOD, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM), Jon Lord (DEEP PURPLE) and Nicko McBrain (IRON MAIDEN). Not only jamming together for the sheer fun of things, this new project has united for a cause — rebuilding and helping the music school in Gyumari, Armenia. The single was a joyful and inspired moment. Iommi and Gillan have now decided to make WHOCARES an album for their devoted fans. Classic songs and a lot of rarities and unreleased material in two CDs of fantastic rare music.

It's from the gig at Ancienne Belgique (Brussels) in March 2005. A tracklist is concentrated around the band's two last albums (with 8 songs off 2005 and 4 off Welcome To Paradise ). Of course, the set includes the band's all-time greatest hit "Fly" (on disc one), plus a medley of older songs "No Way To Heaven" (off The Cry Of Pleasure ), "Over the Hill" ( Urban Games ), "Lay Down" ( "Break Out" ) and "Turn Off" ( New Lines ) following Mechanical Moonbeam 's "Rape Dancer" (on disc two). Over the years, Guccio 's voice has matured somewhat, meaning he doesn't go as high as on the original recordings of "Fly" , but in retrospect that is even a good thing, as it shows a steadier voice.

One of the most popular and best-respected acts on the current country music scene, the Dixie Chicks have made a name for themselves by blending the sweet sound of traditional country with the spirit and drive of contemporary pop, while also shattering long-held stereotypes about women as instrumentalists. An Evening With the Dixie Chicks features the group performing 16 songs including all the tracks from their 2002 release Home culled from a pair of concerts taped at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, CA. Selections include "A Home," "Landslide," "White Trash Wedding," "Wide Open Spaces," "Goodbye Earl," and "Sin Wagon."

The second album from the Pula`s Hard Rock band Atomsko Skloniste is Hard as the 1st one, with which they showed that they won`t mellow out. Until the last album with the vocalist Sergio Blazic, AS were a pure Hard Rock band, with few ballads or easy songs here and there, but basically a stubborn Hard Rock act. This is a great album.

The other night I rented the movie Zodiac and watched it for the first time. Having missed it during its theatrical run, I had looked forward to watching it for some time. So anyway, one of the first things I picked up on about the movie was its very inventive use of the music from the same time period the gruesome serial murders occured in Northern California — stuff like Donovan's "Hurdy Gurdy Man" for example.
