The works on this first volume of the complete piano works of Mieczysław Weinberg range from very early yet characterful Mazurkas and the remarkably intense Lullaby, his Opus 1, to the at times dissonant Piano Sonata No 1 and the more classically oriented Piano Sonata No 2. The Sonata, Op 49bis is a 1978 expansion and rebalancing of a work originally completed in 1951.

Another compilation of the author, composer, arranger and German director Werner Müller (Berlin, 1920-98) and his orchestra, published in Australia in 1971 bringing together a wide selection of items registered with the Decca Phase 4 Stereo. In this LP gather 12 of them, with a repertoire ranging from classics to Latin themes, through movie music. Unique personal quality and orchestration arrangements under the baton of Werner Müller.

Album released in Venezuela in 2000, made especially by collecting a series of 12 recordings of Mexican boleros by the famous singer Pedro Infante (Mazatlan, 1917-1957), one of the golden voices of the Mexican song, that have been edited mixed with the splendid voices and guitars of the vocal ensemble 'Rondalla Venezuela', without altering the original arrangements and with the same original harmonies. The album is designed as a tribute to Pedro Infante 40 years after his disappearance in 1957.

In their series of Jazz greats, TDK release on DVD the first part of a jazz night in Torino in 1977 with famed sax player Archie Shepp and his Quartet. Archie Shepp was much discussed among jazz fans during the 1970s as it was becoming increasingly clear that a profound change was taking place in his approach to music and even his physical appearance. For years he had been the embodiment of black resistance, dressing in traditional African garments and protesting against the suppression of black people. But now he was wearing suits and had given up his free style of playing in favour of interpretations of known pieces from the jazz tradition. Inevitably, the changes upset some people and pleased others. But Shepp never made it easy to judge him, and ignoring the talk he went ahead on his straight path, which had already led him to a place among the jazz greats while he was still a young man.

This album is a wonderful blend of musical styles and genres, from swampy blues with electric guitars, saxophone and B3 organ, to country and cajun with fiddles and accordion, to 60s psychedelic with flute and sitar.
