Summoning Juan Tizol's travel-worn "Caravan" to raise the curtain on a big-band album poses a challenge for any arranger, one that John La Barbera easily brushes aside on the third recording as leader of his own ensemble. And while "Caravan" dazzles in La Barbera's capable hands, it is merely the opening salvo in a session that smolders from end to end…

Touted as a "Child Prodigy" many in the Classical community were excited with this new exciting star who had already released 3 Classical CD's when she was 12 & 13, had toured with orchestras and participated in many TV appearances with professional aplomb.

    Jazz | MP3 320 kbps CBR | 80 min | 171 MB
Label: Savoy Jazz | Rel: 1998

This Kenny Burrell compilation from 32 Jazz collects some of the guitarist's best work recorded for the Muse label between 1978 and 1983. Perhaps not the Detroit native's most essential period, but a sorely overlooked one that reveals some great moments. Featuring variously Larry Gales, Reggie Johnson, and Rufus Reid on bass with Sherman Ferguson and Ben Riley on drums, the tracks are resolutely stripped back. In fact, the real joy here is that with the intimate trio setting one really gets to hear Burrell attack each song head-on in his own bluesy, minimalist style. Included here is an earthy rendition of "All Blues" that showcases Burrell comping behind his own tasteful blues choruses and a gorgeous afterglow version of J.J. Johnson's "Lament."

Rock / Hard Rock | Label : The End Records

These Brits have carved their debut full-length out of the bones of bands from the ’70s (Thin Lizzy), bands from the ’80s (The Black Crowes), and bands that think they were from the ’80s (Buckcherry). An utterly uncontemporary mix of blues rock and Sunset Strip sleaze metal, Badlands‘ songs are entirely decent and thoroughly unremarkable–all nostalgia and no teeth. “Hey, hey, little woman /I’ll drag you back to Hell,” promises singer Peter Comerford on retrograde-in-every-way opener “Favourite Sin,” but he seems too polite to mean it.

“Closure” is an eight track album with a playing time of 64 minutes, which is a great proportion for such an album. Although Darkflight are sticking up to what they're known for throughout the entire album, the tracks are still quite various in speed, length and even intensity. Make no mistake about it though, even the lightest of tracks will throw you into a dream land of shadows.

It is Ron’s virtuosity, his talent and characteristic sense of humour that brings both him and his band the numerous national and international engagements. Diverse CD productions follow. And since his main desire is „to bring something across“ with his music, Ron Evans now spends most of his time writing and composing his own works.

Metrognom is a progressive ensemble from Norway, not the brightest, so far, to dazzle and intrigue, still interesting and powerful as long as progressive rock, in all its modern condition, is regarded as an endless treat of music, mixed styles or rock fever. Deep or dizzy, Metrognom plays in "Twangyluck" rock, jazz, jam, space and pop belted under the sign of a conceptual, purely instrumental and extremely concentrated composition. There are only four pieces, but they're all epic and rarely have a constant rhythm and pleasure.

    Label: Heavenly Sweetness | Tracks : 10 | Rls.date: 2014

Real jazz-funk with an hip hop attitude. As their band name says, they only play cover of Dope… gems. Rare tracks from the late 70′s and early 80′ from OST or valuable vinyls. If you're a rap music enthusiast, you know sampling is a definite part of beat-making. And for the past 25 years, the one sound that's been consistently used and abused has been Jazz-Funk, an overlooked, critics-panned genre when it was first created, only to be celebrated by the streets years later. The deep, complex, modal compositions, the audacious arrangements, were balanced out with a sense of gritty, true r'n'b and funk aggressivity.

Multitalented UK artist Kuba presents more of his unbelievable musical diversify. This album is fresh, innovative and a good deal more bold and experimental. The result is an excellent and outstanding production. A wonderful, multicoloured and experimental mix of high qualtity chillout and dub music as its best! Another Kuba classic, perfect chillout music music for the coming summer.

2009’s release “Three Cheers For The Broken-Hearted” reveals a leaner, tighter Glass Hammer; with Steve Babb and Fred Schendel once more handling nearly all of the instrumentation and one hundred percent of the writing and production. Still, Glass Hammer alum Susie Bogdanowicz finds herself squarely in the spot light as the solo-vocalist on seven of the album’s eleven tracks.
