Pablo serves up another scoop of material from the delicious John Pisano guitar duet sessions of summer/fall 1994 with no dropoff at all in tasty musical value. Lee Ritenour, Phil Upchurch, Ted Greene and Dori Caymmi return from the Among Friends CD, and additional cooking sessions with Joe Diorio and acoustic-only duets with Gene Bertoncini turn up. As Khan released her first solo album, I'm Every Woman, the band released 1978's Numbers, sans Khan, and it went absolutely nowhere. Masterjam finds them back together, renamed Rufus and Chaka, with Quincy Jones producing the effort. Khan had worked with Jones on his 1978 album, Sounds…And Stuff Like That. The most striking thing about Masterjam is that is doesn't sound like a trademark Rufus effort. Jones' production style is so strong that the band's individual sound is all but lost.

10cc's Greatest Hits 1972-1978 was the first compilation by 10cc to include their recordings with UK Records and with Mercury. It was released in time for Christmas 1979 and was intended as a stop-gap between albums, whilst Eric Stewart recovered from his car accident. Old-school death metallers JUNGLE ROT released their ninth full-length album, "Order Shall Prevail", on June 30 via Victory. "The album title came up while watching a news story about police brutality, basically hinting at a new world order if we don't put our governments in check," guitarist Jimmy Genez states. The ten-track sledgehammer opens with "Doomsday", and stomps with wrathful hatred on tracks like "Blood Revenge", the peace-halting title track, and the war-marching "I Cast The First Stone" punches, tramples, and will maul the ears of even the most seasoned soldier of metal. The patriotic, ass-kicking "Fight Where You Stand" features an appearance by Max Cavalera (SEPULTURA, SOULFLY, NAILBOMB). Genez says: "Classic SEPULTURA was a huge influence on us, and when we played the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise alongside Max (with SOULFLY), we all just hit it off. Having him lend his voice on our album is a huge honor."
