Auf "At The Olympia Paris" präsentiert sie der Hörerin das ausverkaufte Abschlusskonzert ihrer fulminanten Europatournee aus 2009/2010 und interpretiert, neben einigen eigenen Songs, vor allem zeitlose Jazz-Standards wie "April in Paris", "Nature Boy" oder "Tea for Two" - natürlich in gewohnt Ekdahl`scher Manier.

he main reason to purchase this previously unissued set from the declining years of Blue Note is not for the trivial rhythmic themes (which use fairly basic chord sequences) or even the solos of organist John Patton (who never does escape entirely from the shadow of Jimmy Smith) but for the somewhat out-of-place avant-garde outbursts by Harold Alexander (on tenor and flute) who often takes improvisations that go completely outside; his squeals on "Boogaloo Boogie" are a real surprise and he may very well be the reason that this music was not put out at the time. Otherwise this is a routine and now-dated set of commercial late-'60s jazz/funk.

On Jobim's second A&M album, Eumir Deodato takes over the chart-making tasks, and the difference between him and Claus Ogerman is quite apparent in the remake of "The Girl From Ipanema": the charts are heavier, more dramatic, and structured. Sometimes the arrangements roll back so one can hear, say, the dancing multi-phonic flute of wildman Hermeto Pascoal on "Tema Jazz," and the rhythms often veer away from the familiar ticking of the bossa nova.

This DVD features performances by Yes that were filmed for television 1998. The performances features hits such as "Owner of a lonely heart" "Long distance runaround", "Rhythm of love" "I've Seen All Good People" and "The revealing science of God" plus many others…

The final volume of this four-volume chronicling of Prez' stand at Olivia's Patio Lounge in 1956 is no less fine than its preceding three volumes. Everything here is stretched out to a comfortable length, everybody is taking their time, giving the music plenty of room to breathe and most importantly, giving Young all the time he needs to get deep inside the music itself. ~ AllMusic
