Falling Deeper is an upcoming compilation album from atmospheric rock band Anathema to be released on September 5 2011. The songs announced include "Crestfallen", "Kingdom", "Sunset of Age", that will receive new arrangements to fit "a mesmerising blend of the orchestral - majestic and at times ethereal - with beautiful vocal arrangements and our unique 'feedback' lead guitars, all centred around a grand piano and a huge rhythm section. All the layers work together to convey the haunting internal landscapes Anathema have become renowned for. Dutch singer Anneke van Giersbergen sings on Everwake", a song originally released on the 1992 EP The Crestfallen.
This record starts off with one of the underrated gems of the 1960s, an exciting matchup by tenors Sonny Stitt and Paul Gonsalves. This is very much a jam session set, with "Salt And Pepper" being a heated medium-tempo blues and the two competitive tenors stretching out on "S'posin'" and a lengthy "Perdido." ~ AcousticSounds
If there ever was a concept that didn't deserve to reach fruition, it's Saturday Morning: Cartoons' Greatest Hits. A collection of alternative rock bands covering the theme songs to '60s and '70s television cartoons, Saturday Morning is the perfect example of an album that was completely constructed by a record company.
