Radio City Music Hall Live! Was filmed at the iconic New York venue on 30 March 2007. It was the first US concert by the Dio / Iommi/ Butler/ Appice line-up for over 15 years and formed part of Heaven & Hell s 2007 world tour. It was the success of this tour that led to the continued existence of Heaven & Hell, a new studio album and further live dates, and ongoing plans that were only curtailed by the sad death of Ronnie James Dio. Filmed in high definition but originally released on DVD only by SPV in Europe, the show is now being re-released on both DVD and for the first time on Blu-ray by Eagle Vision with additional bonus material.

It's the fall of 1957, and John Coltrane finds himself in another session with overtones of Kansas City, thanks to the inclusion of Basie alumni Frank Wess and Paul Quinichette. WHEELIN' & DEALIN' reprises the Mal Waldron/Art Taylor rhythm section (with Doug Watkins on bass instead of Paul Chambers), only with a bit more bite and jet propulsion than on Trane's other Prestige all-star dates. The chemistry between Coltrane, Wess and Quinichette makes WHEELIN' & DEALIN' a particular joy. Listen to the coquettish "Salt Peanuts" vamp Trane and Quinichette introduce behind Wess' percolating flute on "Things Ain't What They Used To Be," and how modern Wess' conception of this instrument is (rarely has Wess gotten the credit he deserves for his total command of the flute, and for popularizing it in a jazz setting).

    Melodic Power Metal

ELVENPATH was founded in the winter of 01/02. In the area of Frankfurt/Germany there were hardly any bands dedicated to 80s style Power Metal - something which clearly had to be changed. With plenty of shows and several releases ELVENPATH gained themselves a reputation as an outstanding newcomer, an excellent live act and one of the hopes of the young German Metal scene. Numerous good reviews tell what gem was developing in the underground.

Pianist Michel Camilo made his recording debut as a leader with this session for the Japanese King label. Camilo was anxious to show everything, and did so on such cuts as "Thinking Of You" and the title track. He ripped through phrases, added powerhouse chords and rippling lines, switched tempos and meters, and moved from a hard bop feel to an Afro-Latin groove in the middle of a piece. His intensity and energy were impressive, but at times he tried too much and stumbled getting back to the melody…It wasn't an unflawed debut, but Camilo showed that he would be a pianist to be reckoned with down the line.

Although Jane's Addiction's 1987 self-titled debut was an intriguing release (few alternative bands at the time had the courage to mix modern rock, prog rock, and heavy metal together), it paled in comparison to their now classic major-label release one year later, Nothing's Shocking.

I was going to give this CD a three star rating, but I changed it to four stars because the trio simply appears to be trying SO hard to putting on a good live performance here. 'Live In Germany, 1983' was recorded in Bochum, Germany in February 1983. Guitarist / vocalist Bernie Torme is stepping in for John DuCann and doing a very nice job of such, while joining ranks with keyboardist Vincent Crane and drummer Paul Hammond.

After about two years we have here the successor of the debut album, from this German Stormhunter. This second full length album is again a return to Rockin 'Rolf and his associates, yes of course we mean Running Wild. For fans of Running Wild and old Helloween, this is a release that they must hear.
