2001-Dice In Sapce is the fourth studio album by German progressive rock band DICE. The music of 'Dice' is preoccupied with trips to inner and outer space, so it was inevitable, if a bit superfluous, that they would eventually produce an effort entitled 'Dice in Space'. The pieces are linked by sounds reminiscent of those in PINK FLOYD's echoes, but on the whole this is much warmer and gentler music than Floyd. They manage to conjure a variety of emotions and stylings, many of which are throwbacks to the 70s.

Erno” Dohnányi is the least celebrated of the seminal triumvirate of twentieth-century Hungarian composers; Zoltán Kodály and Béla Bartók have become household names, yet Dohnányi’s posthumous fame hangs upon an unrepresentative handful of compositions. This recording brings together three of his finest chamber works; the two masterful yet hugely contrasting Piano Quintets, and his remarkable essay in that most underutilized of instrumental genres, the string trio.

Dvorák's music for violin and piano comes from many periods in his career. An early Sonata in A minor of 1873 is lost. Of the works which do survive, several, including the Notturno and Four Romantic Pieces, are skilful arrangements of earlier works (the Notturno is a reworking of the central section of the E minor String Quartet, while the Four Pieces were originally written for viola and piano).

The music of Josef Suk, pupil of Dvorák and married to the elder composer’s daughter, is only now beginning to be recognized for its true worth. Presented here are three relatively early works, brimming with youthful enthusiasm but already showing considerable individuality, a highly developed approach to structure, and, occasionally, a touch of the melancholy introspection which was to inform many of the composer’s later works. A talented violinist, Suk lends to his chamber compositions a true understanding of the genre, while his thoroughly ‘Czech’ musical upbringing ensures strong representation for the folk and dance influences to be found in the music of many of his contemporaries.

Fritz Reiner was one of the foremost conductors of his time. Crowning his long career in Europe and America was the decade from 1954 to 1963 as music director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra an illustrious partnership that ranks along such other historical tenures as Karajan's in Berlin, Szell's in Cleveland and Bernstein's in New York.
Luckily for posterity, Reiner's legendary interpretations at the helm of the Chicago Symphony which no less than Igor Stravinsky called "the most precise and flexible orchestra in the world" were captured on record by RCA Victor. Now for the first time ever, they are being issued together in a single Sony Classical box set of 63 re-mastered CDs.

Founded in 1990, Rumour Records released compilations of all kinds of dance music. The label originally released twelve inch records and vinyl compilations. Goa Trancendental 1&2 consists of such artists: Digitalis, Quatermass, Cosmosis, Unreality, Astral Projection, Dr. Psychedelic, Alien Mutation and other.

German band Electra was formed in 1969 by 5 students from the Dresden School of Music in what was then the eastern part of the divided Germany. They made a name for themselves by reinterpreting classical symphonic music using contemporary, electronic instruments as well as producing original compositions of elongated, progressive rock with a firm emphasis on elongated instrumental solos. They made their debut as Electra-Combo in 1974 with the album Electra Combo. From 1975 and onwards they decided to stick with the shorter Electra band name. A string of critically acclaimed productions followed in the next few years, but in the 1980's the creative spirits of the band appeared to dwindle…

Hip Young Guitar Slinger and "His Heavy Friends" focuses on Jimmy Page's work as a session guitarist for the Immediate and Pye labels in the '60s. The first disc includes the poppier end of his work behind Gregory Phillips, the Kinks and Nico, while the second disc finds him in more familiar territory backing English blues masters like Eric Clapton, John Mayall and Jeff Beck…

Gyllene Tider was formed in Halmstad in 1977, out of a duo called Grape Rock, consisting of vocalist, keyboard player, and guitarist Per Gessle and guitarist Mats Persson. (…) During the promotional tour, they performed as Roxette, but it was not the Roxette that Gessle would later form together with Marie Fredriksson, but merely a renamed Gyllene Tider. After this second failure, the band split up, and Gessle started to pursue a solo career and plan for a record company of his own; until in 1986 he formed the real Roxette.
