The Band's fourth album, from 1971, shows the strains which accompanied its recording, and in fact continued to unravel the group over the next five years. Much anticipated upon its release, it can now be appreciated as the fragmented work that it is. Having set impossibly high standards with their previous releases, they were bound to teeter, and they did. But even when falling short of their masterpieces Music From Big Pink and The Band, they are still a powerful force to be reckoned with, and Cahoots yields its share of rewards.

Florida-based death metal veterans CANNIBAL CORPSE will release their twelfth studio album, "Torture", on March 13 via Metal Blade Records. The follow-up to 2009's "Evisceration Plague" offers up 12 tracks of maniacally precise, soul-searing death metal. "Torture" was again produced by HATE ETERNAL's Erik Rutan at his own Mana Recording Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida as well as Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, and features the maniacal cover art by longtime CANNIBAL CORPSE artist Vincent Locke.

Perhaps the most famous song on this album is "Cálice," the classic protest song written by Chico Buarque and Gilberto Gil, on which Buarque is accompanied by Milton Nascimento on vocals. Although very beautiful, "Cálice," with its mildly rock-oriented sound, isn't really representative for the rest of the album, whose sound is more traditional.
