The album dark as the night. It is separated into two parts. First part consists of four drifting and droning tracks fading each other. Second part consists of a long complex track and shorter track that's actually a Shelter main theme. While first part is mostly based around deep low drones, surrounding sounds and minimal, except a noisy drone piece in the end, the second part is based on industrial echoes, longer piece starts with some even melodic theme and moves towards to the emotionless drift with minor drone beats and for the second section the far bell sounds appear. Shelter theme is a separate topic for discussion as it's a complete scene of factory interior: hammer-like drone beats and noise splashes give the unique feeling of a safe and dangerous place at once. The idea of noise splashes was later used once again in Wires.
EMI celebrates the 75th birthday of one of our most acclaimed and respected contemporary composers, Steve Reich. This album includes a world-premiere recording of a new scoring of Reich's "Six Pianos", entitled "Piano Counterpoint", arranged and performed by Vincent Corver, Pianist and Co-Founder of the Composer-Endorsed London Steve Reich Ensemble.
The Queen's sixth studio album "News of the World" was released in 1977, which has gone four times platinum in the United States, and twice in the UK. The album contained many songs tailor-made for live performance, including two of rock's most recognisable anthems, "We Will Rock You" and the rock ballad "We Are the Champions", both of which became enduring international sports anthems, and the latter reached number four in the United States.
The intriguing two-CD On Tour Live 2004 set crosses many musical boundaries without even trying. The Actis Band quintet performs free jazz infused with wit, occasional funk, bluesiness, passion, and a bit of wackiness. Carlos Actis Dato, who plays tenor, baritone, and bass clarinet, is particularly effective on the latter. Massimo Rossi is excellent on both alto and soprano while guitarist Karsten Lipp adds a strong avant-rock flavor to the proceedings. With bassist Federico Marchesano and drummer Dario Bruna providing very stimulating support, this two-fer from the Italian Splasch is continually colorful, unpredictable, and lively. It shows that there is plenty of new and innovative jazz being performed in the 21st century.
11-track CD album featuring versions of Oasis classic by the likes of The Dilemmas, Hipster, The Itch, Twist, The Persuaders, and more.
