Live in America! is the first live album by Jørn Lande. It was released under his stage name Jorn on September 24, 2007.Jorn's solo band's line-up is the same as in the last albums The Duke and Unlocking the Past, with the exception of bassist Morty Black who was replaced by Pagan's Mind bassist Steinar Krokmo (who contributed to Jorn's solo records in the past). The album was recorded on the first show Jorn ever did in the US, on 16 September 2006 where he headlined the Progpower USA festival in Atlanta. The album features four live cover songs: "Are You Ready" and "Cold Sweat" by Thin Lizzy, "Straight Through the Heart" by Ronnie James Dio and "Perfect Strangers" by Deep Purple, as well as medley of covers to five Whitesnake songs, including the hit single "Here I Go Again".
WARBREATH released their debut full-length album entitled "Gates Of Beyond", on March 16th, 2013. The album was recorded by Ignacio Figueroa at Ignacio Figueroa's Estudios in Viña del Mar, Chile. The art cover was designed by Christopher Peters "A.K.A. Trejoe at Deviant Art".
Dutch American rockers Wild Ride released just the one album, «Tension & Desire», in 1993. This album will definitely appeal to fans of 1st Avenue , Def Leppard, Zinatra and band with that similar hard rock style.
The DVD captures the live feel of the concert exceptionally well and Andy displays his virtuosity with the guitar which few people are aware of.His unique voice is as good as ever though obviously in a slightly lower key for the Amen Corner stuff these days. Chris Stainton on keyboards is magnificent as is Dave Bronze on bass both ex Clapton band members. Paul Beavis is the unknown quantity here and I can tell you he is one of the most animated drummers I have ever seen. He just loves what he is doing and shows it.
…For lovers of the Schumann symphonies, I would suggest they try this disc; I think they will find it does indeed 'Open Doors'.
Marvin Gaye's successful career matched his extraordinary life; a mix of high's and rock bottom lows. Marvin's creative work ran across three decades, from the fabulous Motown hits of the 1960' where he proved himself as a solo artist with worldwide classics. With his talent and creativity came a profound search for himself and the building of the foundations of his beliefs.
Chris Zippel must be some kind of downtempo/ambient magician. On his debut album titled "Genuine Horizon", most of the tracks start with a very ordinary introduction however half-way through any given song, you suddenly stop to realize that what you're listening to has become really enjoyable. The progression from beginning to end is slow and very subtle yet it turns every song into sweet honey for the ears. Charming release. Don't be fooled by the first 30 secs of any of the songs, let them flow from beginning to the end and you'll enjoy.
This disc committed to chamber music of Colin Matthews is an entry in NMC's Ancora series, a worthy venture devoted to bringing back into print recordings of contemporary music by British composers that have been deleted. Some of these pieces go back to the LP era, and even had to be transferred from vinyl as the original masters have gone astray. Divertimento for double string quartet (1982) is a signature piece from Matthews and unique in his output, being …………Uncle Dave Lewis @ AllMusic
An individual and strongly gifted composer, Mussorgsky was a self-taught amateur who became one of Russia's foremost 19th century musical figures, tragically dying young. This CD contains 'alternative' versions of many pieces to those most commonly heard - including the manuscript version of 'Pictures' avoiding the many substantial errors (including even the popular title of the piece) contained in the published version - and three even earlier drafts, together with revised versions of some works. Once again Anthony Goldstone provides a phenomenal performance.
