Foerster's piano trios in the first complete digital recording! New recording. The works of Josef Bohuslav Foerster (1859–1951) have deservedly experienced a renaissance in recent years. Following the acclaimed albums of his two violin concertos (SU 3961-2), cello concerto (SU 3989-2) and complete string quartets (SU 4050-2), SUPRAPHON has now released the first-ever digital recording featuring the complete Foerster piano trios. And as in the case of the string quartets, the three piano trios too represent various creative phases, with the first and third being divided by almost four decades.

This CD is very special, because this is my first duo CD. It gives me the chance to record a few of my favourite songs in a small formation. We used only one guest musician per song. We tried to make our version of these songs as simple as possible. 'So that the pure sound of the guitar and voices might stand out. That you might drift into the story and feel the mood of the moment.Most of the songs on this CD are recorded for easy listening. According to Carlos Castaneda, ancient Toltec sorcerers had developed the art of staying aware while dreaming, in order to travel to parallel worlds, and have a better understanding of the human potential. As I was reading Castaneda's book entitled The Art of Dreaming, I immediately drew a comparison with the musician's quest. Except that instead of staying aware during their dreaming, musicians manage to dream while being awake, and share that dream with other musicians and listeners.

Carl Nielsen (1865-1931) is Denmark's most famous composer. He studied with Niels Wilhelm Gade at Copenhagen Conservatory and went on study trips to Germany, Austria, Italy and France. Nielsen was court music director in Copenhagen and taught at the Royal Danish Conservatory. His works display strong counterpoint and polytonality as well as traditional melody shapes.

The Timewriter aka Jean F. Cochois is a house music producer. His trademark style can be characterised by its dense and atmospheric sound. UK «Muzik» magazine wrote: «This is real 21st century soul music, overflowing with magic». Under various pseudonyms he has been releasing 12» and artist albums on labels as Plastic City, Mole Listening Pearls, Elektrolux and American labels such as Wave Music, Driftwood, and Fiji.
