Italian Symphonic Metal kings RHAPSODY OF FIRE will release „Live - From Chaos to Eternity“ on May 3rd (USA: May 7th).The material (a mixture of old classics and newer tracks) was recorded on the band’s latest European tour in Spring 2012.Alex Staropoli comments:"We wanted to deliver a live album that can actually be called a LIVE album. Not one single part was re-recorded in studio as most of bands do. Personally I am always looking for perfection but in the case of this live album I truly believe it had to sound live and maintain both live playing and feeling at 100%."
Born in New York City, I spent most of my adolescent years in a suburb of Detroit. When the Beatles hit the scene in the early 60s, my chums and I took turns emulating the Fab Four with the help of vinyl recordings and broom stick instruments. This was truly an exciting time. It wasn't long before I saved up and bought myself a solid-body electric guitar adn a cheap amp, teamed up with some chums and started my first rock band…
Folk-tinged, psychedelic, and improvisational, Leslie's Motel skirted the periphery of the jam-band niche during the early '70s. Drummer Roy Blumenfeld (formally of Blues Project and Seatrain) was the group's most notable member. Their previously unreleased concept album, Dirty Sheets, was reissued by psych-garage imprint Gear Fab in 2009…
For those who still have a penchant for classic hard rock I’m proud to present the fourth studio album by Cornerstone. This is a very polished piece of European hard rock / melodic progressive metal featuring one of the unsung heroes of the vocal world. Great band, one of the best voices around!
Hailed worldwide as one of the greatest guitar players of his generation, Joe Bonamassa has almost single-handedly redefined the blues-rock genre and brought it into the mainstream. He continues this role with his first-ever entirely acoustic concert, recorded at the venerable Vienna Opera House with a global ensemble put together by longtime creative partner Kevin Shirley . The 2CD/2DVD/Blu-ray, An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House , comes out March 26, 2013 on Bonamassa's label J&R Adventures.
This film attempts to capture the music played by Anthony Coleman, as if it were seared by light. A few memories of a filmed desert and a dervish-woman appear to accompany and foil this instantaneous musical moment.
A key player of the NYC Downtown scene since the late 70’s, Anthony Coleman is credited on John Zorn’s greatest albums, as well as on some Naked City projects. He also was the special guest to the first David Krakauer’s Klezmer Madness and has performed numerous times with Marc Ribot.
