Jazz / Hard Bop / Post Bop

Avant-garde altoist John Zorn teams up with trombonist George Lewis and guitarist Bill Frisell to form a unique trio. Without the benefit of piano, bass, or drums, they interpret the hard bop compositions of Kenny Dorham, Hank Mobley, Sonny Clark, and Freddie Redd, generally not even the better-known ones. The performances are quite concise (Dorham's "Windmill" is covered in 40 seconds), respectful to the melodies, and unpredictable.

    Progressive Rock / Symphonic Prog

An excellent album, very intense and symphonic. Solid flute lead work (Kollar Attila is one of the greatest flute players), lots of majestic chorus interventions (singers of Hungarian State Opera) and the strong participation of drums, bass, guitar and -specially- the electronic keyboards, makes "Nostradamus" a must. SOLARIS is one of the few bands where, despite the prominent flute role, the listener doesn't think about JETHRO TULL, because the sound is pretty much symphonic and pompous…

A Sickness Unto Death formed in the beginning of 2012 as a collaboration between Michael Maas and Tim Ziegeler.Michael runs the small project studio "Refuge Studio" close to Bremen, Germany.During the last two years he has been writing doomy and gloomy songs reflecting some of the more despairing circumstances in his otherwise fulfilled and happy life.Tim also hails from the German north and has been involved in several musical projects such as the doomy Visions of Moribund and the brutal Hasszorn. Tim immediately connected to Michael's material and began contributing his signature vocal lines and lyrics. Since then, the duo has continued writing songs which will culminate in the release of the album "despair".The album was finished in January 2013 and will be released through TWS May 3rd 2013.

    Folk Metal

Litvintroll was founded in 2005 as a folk band performing traditional Belarusian music with modern arrangements and employing traditional instruments from the region. During that period, the band took part in a large number of folk music festivals across Belarus. In 2007, Litvintroll evolved into a metal band, while still following the folk traditions of the previous years, where ancient instruments played a leading part in their music. In 2009, Litvintroll released the album entitled, “Rock’n’Troll”. The release met with some success at home and received positive feedback from fans abroad. Rock’n’Troll covered a broad range of styles: from rock’n’roll to death metal, wrapped in the sound of traditional instruments. On that album, Litvintroll added a fresh, modern sound to ancient folk songs and a folk sound, to their own compositions. On September 2, 2012, just days before the album was finished, tragedy struck. During a show in Homel, Belarus, bass player Aleh Klimchanka died from electric shock on stage.Album “Czornaja Panna” is dedicated to his memory.

This 1973 release was the very last collection that the Grateful Dead authorized during their tenure with Warner Bros. in the late '60s and early '70s. However, this live disc was a sort of melancholy affair, as it centered on material featuring Ron "Pigpen" McKernan (guitar/vocals/mouth harp), who had left the band due to illness in June of the previous year. History of the Grateful Dead, Vol. 1 (Bear's Choice) is somewhat misleading, as a follow-up never came to pass. Band historians, however, claim that this release was optimistically titled because the label had hoped to issue a series of live recordings (a la Dick's Picks) containing highlights from a variety of vintage Dead performances.

Armored Saint reformed in the entire Symbol of Salvation lineup to record Revelation in 1999 after six years of being disbanded. The result was a solid album, a natural sequel of their previous effort.

Since the early 1980s percussionist Kahil El'Zabar has led numerous dates as a leader, with much of his work issued by Chicago's Delmark Records. Some of his most impressive efforts for the label have featured collaborations with renowned artists, including New Thing-era luminaries such as Kalaparush Maurice McIntyre, Pharoah Sanders and Archie Shepp, as well as peers like Ernest Dawkins, David Murray and the late Billy Bang. What It Is! covers relatively new territory though, with the AACM veteran serving as the leader of a youthful quartet comprised of former students.

…Instead of avoiding the cerebral, Coster thrives on it. The Santana graduate has plenty of room to let loose and blow, as do such inspired sidemen as tenorist Michael Brecker and his disciple Bob Malach. And Dennis Chambers' intense drumming is superb throughout this fine and often abstract jazz/rock/funk CD.

Fair Warning is a veteran German hard rock band who scored great success in Japan. Go! is their third album released in 1997. As you can see in this jacket Fair Warning at that time was five man band but after this album release their drummer left. So this album is the last of their best line-up. This album has full of great powered rockers and great power ballad with hit potential such as "Follow My Heart", "The Way You Want It", "I'll be There" and "All On Your Own".
