Tommy Emmanuel, four-time winner of Australia's Best Guitarist award, has helped bring the art of rock guitar down under to a higher awareness over his two-decade-long career by bringing a sense of jazz improvisation into a mix that also includes blues, country, rock, classical, and Spanish music. After years as a popular sideman and ace songwriter, the two-time ARIA (Aussie Grammys equivalent) award winner launched his solo career in 1988 with Up from Down Under. Several releases have followed, most notably 1993's critically acclaimed The Journey, which hit high on Gavin and Radio & Records NAC airplay charts.

'Banda Primitiva de Lliria' was founded in 1819 in that city of Valencia (Spain). The Musical Athenaeum is the nonprofit association responsible for maintenance of the band, orchestra and chorus, and a school of music education at all levels. This Band is the oldest one in Spain. In his career, next to the two centuries of life, has been honored with numerous awards, both in Spain and abroad. This album was recorded under the direction of Ramón Ramírez Beneyto, who directed it between 1996 and 2000.

The guitar as a concert instrument in this album offers 12 classical tracks performed by guitarist William Gomez as a soloist, with Sergio and Eduardo Abreu. Timo Tolkki returns with a stunning Symphonic Metal Opera "The Land of New Hope" due out on Frontiers in MayHailed by fans and press as one of the forefathers of the Power Metal genre with his songwriting for the band STRATOVARIUS in the late 90’s and early 00’s, Timo Tolkki has been silently preparing his musical revenge. Following a call in august 2012 from Frontiers Records President Serafino Perugino, Tolkki quickly cancelled all plans and started writing new music following an original concept discussed years ago between the artist and Perugino. The idea was to have a magniloquent metal / rock opera with some cinematic orchestrations to bring back the STRATOVARIUS original sound in a more symphonic and grandiose fashion. “I sort of rediscovered myself musically in the process of making this album”, explains Tolkki. “I wrote the story first and started composing the music after that. My aim was to write memorable songs with good melodies that would support the story. In STRATOVARIUS back in early 90’s, I was one of those who were there in creating the whole Power Metal genre, so it is natural that people may associate this music style to me. But on this album you will find a lot of different dynamics as well with some songs that are fully orchestrated and sound very very big”.

World Upside Down is the fifth studio album (second since the reunion), by House of Lords, released on May 23, 2006. The album features founding member James Christian once again with an all-new line-up, as he is the only one of the original members left on the line-up. Still, founding member Gregg Giuffria, who was not reunited with the original line-up for the 2004 album The Power and the Myth, is featured on the album as a guest keyboardist.

Guitarist Hiram Bullock has always been a study in contrasts. The group is credited with seven number one songs and a host of other Top Ten hits on the Billboard charts, and their vast catalog includes more than 50 albums. The members of Commodores, all of whom attended Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, came together as a result of two groups disbanding: the Mystics and the Jays. Initially formed to simply play music as a pastime and to meet girls, the lineup consisted of William King (trumpet), Thomas McClary (guitar), Ronald LaPread (bass), Walter "Clyde" Orange (drums), Lionel Richie (saxophone), and Milan Williams (keyboards).

You may interpret this work as a sort of observation logs of interesting phenomena and events, whether gaze into the mysterious distance or a careful examination of the near field. As it was conceived, the consolidated result is based on harmonically evolving images cross-fading with each other. Several different sketches bridged together sound very alluring, inventive, stylish, sometimes queer and never boring.
