Recorded live at Warren Haynes’ 18th Annual Christmas Jam in Asheville, NC on December 16th, 2006 at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, The Benefit Concert Volume 8 is the third release in an on-going series documenting the annual concerts. The concert saw Warren Haynes put together a stellar lineup of musicians featuring Gov’t Mule, Dave Matthews, The New Orleans Social Club, Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives, The Taj Mahal Trio and The John Popper Project featuring DJ Logic. Warren Haynes also welcomed very special guests Randall Bramblett, Taylor Hicks, Branford Marsalis, Mike Barnes, Mickey Raphael, Brendan Bayliss, Kevn Kinney, Robert Kearns and Dave Schools.

CAM Jazz presents the live recording of a recent concert in New York’s Village Vanguard by one of its major artists, Enrico Pieranunzi. With him on stage in the historic club are two friends from previous adventures: Marc Johnson on bass and the late Paul Motian on drums. Compilation album by German violinist and conductor Alfred Hause, died in 2005. In his country was known as the 'king of tango', which made his continental orchestral style called 'European'-very common in competitive dancing-marking repetitive rhythm, unlike the Argentine genuine. This CD collects 18 of his orchestra performances in that style. The repertoire is varied although does not include some of the most typical and classic tangos with other less common and more of thematic source from several European countries.

This album collects twelve songs that invite you to dance to Latin music. The musical arrangements were prepared by Roland Shaw. The adaptation care of all the issues to Latin American rhythms. Above the musical style of some of the original scores Ros just offers great classics in styles such as cha-cha, mambo, bossa and even bolero or tango, which are a delight played by his orchestra. Ros know in depth the tonal richness of his personality instruments and uses thereof creating unique exchanges between them.

OK, are you ready for something completely different? From someone who has already recorded two complete sets of Bach's six suites for solo cello, BWV 1007-1012, no less? Where to begin? Dutch historical-performance specialist Pieter Wispelwey disregards the long performance tradition associated with these six suites, which seem like cousins to Bach's sonatas and partitas for solo violin but are actually quite different in character (there are no sonatas, for one thing). Even players of the Baroque cello sometimes seem to have Pablo Casals' magisterial recordings in their heads, but Casals is not in the building at all for these readings. They seem to rest on three principles.

James Christian released his first solo album back in 1994 and is known for his participation in the band House of Lords who were newly re-united and released a new CD in 2004.

After two acclaimed trio albums pianist Julia Hülsmann proposes a different project for her third ECM release “In Full View”, motivated initially by a performance by Berlin-based, English trumpet player Tom Arthurs: “I found the music so beautiful that I asked him on the spot to collaborate…” After first rehearsals had established musical compatibility, Hülsmann called upon the services of her trusted rhythm section of Marc Muellbauer (double bass) and Heinrich Köbberling, but a vocalist was no longer needed. Thus the Julia Hülmann Trio became the Julia Hülsmann Quartet – with a prominent role for Tom Arthurs as strong new frontline voice that not only inspires Julia Hülsmann as player and arranger, but also had a stimulating effect on the composing activities within the quartet, with all members bringing compositions to the table.

For her first concert collection in over a decade (available on Blu-ray, DVD and also CD, but with an abridged song list), Alanis Morissette has no trouble packing a night of Switzerland's annual Montreux soiree with a trip through her alternative rock annals. Though some of the show is steeped in tunes from 2012's "Havoc And Bright Lights," which once again finds Morissette belting with her signature abandon, the bulk of the set list is once again culled from 1995's multi-platinum breakthrough "Jagged Little Pill."
