From the area around Memphis comes the black and blind musicians Morris Cummings, who here - accompanied by a loud and gruff therefore coming white band - his debut submit. The whole thing sounds a bit strange, since both his singing style and his Harptechnik are quite rudimentary. Not bad / debut from the blind singer and harp player with did rough voice and simple, powerful harmonica style. He's backed by a pretty good, loud and rough playin 'ribbon.

Kaija Saariaho's La Passion de Simone, an oratorio about the life and thoughts of Simone Weil for soprano solo, choir, orchestra and electronics, is now being released for the first time on CD. La Passion de Simone is not only the most important work by Kaija Saariaho (even she herself said so), but this recording features top performers including soprano Dawn Upshaw and Esa-Pekka Salonen conducting the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Tapiola Chamber Choir.

Ivan Fedele is an Italian composer of mostly orchestral, chamber, choral, vocal, and piano works that have been performed throughout the world. He initially studied philosophy at the Università degli Studi in Milan. He then studied composition with Azio Corghi, counterpoint and harmony with Renato Dionisi and piano with Bruno Canino and Ilonka Deckers at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan, where he graduated in 1981….
