The Swede Magnus Lindgren, saxophonist, flutist, clarinetist, composer and musical traveler will have his new album "Souls" out Naпve: The recording took place in New York in collaboration with the voices of Gregory Porter, Ivan Lins and beautiful young Swedish jazz star Anna Christoffersson, among others. It highlights the talent of this artist / composer admired, among others, by Quincy Jones.

Visually intoxicating, uncompromisingly heavy and revered for making music and lifestyle one, ELECTRIC WIZARD will release its eighth full-length album, "Time To Die", via Spinefarm Records. Says ELECTRIC WIZARD founding member Jus Oborn: "All of our albums in the past have had a theme — revenge, drugs, black magick — and the theme of this one is death. Of course, death to us really means rebirth, so this album is a manifestation of a very primal occult belief in the final sacrifice.

Pianist Pierre De Bethmann is one of the leading lights of the French jazz scene, with his Prysm band (four albums on Blue Note France) and since 2001 with his organ-led Ilium quintet. As a sideman he is recognised for his work in the Moutin Reunion Quartet and has performed notably with Eddie Henderson, Aldo Romano, Philip Catherine, Stephano Di Battista, Julien Lourau and Norma Winstone. For his new Medium Ensemble De Bethmann has gathered together many of the current stars of French jazz: Stephane Guillaume, Sylvain Beuf, David El-Malek, Thomas Savy, Denis Leloup, Franck Agulhon, and more. The double album Sisyphe is the band's debut, featuring 11 all new De Bethmann compositions. The vocalist and the eight horns create a particularly vibrant tapestry for the leader's fluid interweaving keyboard runs.

Whether it be learning an instrument, climbing mountains, or running marathons, they will always push themselves to conquer an obstacle.Guitarist Diego Barber is one of these amazing people. If he is inspired by something, he’ll meet the challenge running and not just figuratively. Barber has invested a great deal of time perfecting his playing of the classical guitar and composing but he hasn’t stopped there. He has recently become enamored with long distance running, training himself to be a peer amongst some of the best long distance and mountain runners in the world.

That Was Then This is Now features 11 tracks compiled from ear X-tacy 1 and 2 (newly re-mastered!), plus 5 new tracks featuring the original Andy Timmons Band line-up of Mitch Marine on drums and Mike Daane on bass. This marks Andy's first official release in the U.S. (hard to believe).

The compilation dvd from the "Swing Era" series, Nat "King" Cole: Soundies & Telescriptions (2004), accumulates twenty-seven soundies, telescriptions, & film clips. There are three clips from Killer Diller (1948) & two from Breakfast in Hollywood (1946), both films preferable in their full context. But the other twenty-two performances are each complete three-minute films. The Snader Telescriptions: Nat "King" Cole (199) is a smaller accumulation (fifty-two minutes vs seventy-four) of eighteen telescriptions, without the earlier soundies.

When We Find Ourselves Alone presents Rodney Whitaker in all his glory, playing exactly what he wants to play. He doesn't share billing or serve somebody else's vision. Instead, he pulls from various places and interests to create a straightforward yet diverse program with some help from some old friends. Whitaker's joined by pianist Bruce Barth, an associate from his days with trumpeter Terence Blanchard, and two of his comrades-in-arms from his time with Hargrove—saxophonist Antonio Hart and drummer Gregory Hutchinson. All four men gel beautifully and seem to have a ball walking down different musical avenues together.
