A brilliant recording of Shostakovich's most famous piano concertos, Festive Overture, and the ballet suite "The Age Of Gold", released by the legendary classical label Naxos. Michael Houstoun (20 October 1952 —) is a concert pianist from New Zealand. He is also known as a patron and juror of musical competitions.

Jaap Schröder is among the most versatile of the musicians who have emerged from the historical performance movement, recording music ranging from Baroque to Romantic both as a soloist and as a chamber musician, conducting or leading a variety of top period-instrument ensembles.

The two works were both recorded live at London's Royal Festival Hall, but over six years apart – Till Eulenspiegel in June 2001, before the hall's renovation, and Ein Heldenleben in late 2007 – and Signum's sound is refreshingly natural; it's a bit uncharitable to say it captures the performances 'warts and all', yet there's an honesty about engineering that employs a natural dynamic range and avoids upholstering the sound. Till Eulenspiegel is a work that delights gleefully in its brilliant surface, making few pretentions to metaphysical profundity. Ein Heldenleben, at three times the length, might similarly avoid excessive philosophising, yet requires a sure hand to prevent it degenerating into overblown pomp.

US act DISTRICT 97 was formed in the fall of 2006, initially consisting of Jonathan Schang (drums), Rob Clearfield (keys), Patrick Mulcahy (bass) and Sam Krahn (guitars). Instrumental rock in the vein of Liquid Tension Experiment was their thing from the onset, but when they decided that their music could use a vocalist changes were about to unfurl.

"Nu Virgos" is the name used to promote the pop group VIA Gra (ВИА Гра) outside of Russia, Ukraine and other nearby countries. This album is a collection of their hits previously released for CIS, now translated in English.

Albedo 0.39 is an album by the artist Vangelis, released in 1976. It is a concept album around space and space physics. Albedo 0.39 was the second album produced by Vangelis in Nemo Studios, London, which was his creative base until the late 1980s. It contrasts with his previous album, Heaven and Hell, which was classically inspired and choral, while Albedo 0.39 has blues and jazz overtones. The album title refers to the average albedo value of the planet Earth as it was in 1976.
