Bad Religion are celebrating three decades of influential, thought provoking and groundbreaking punk rock with a new record and 15th studio album, "The Dissent Of Man". The band commenced writing new material in 2008, but would not begin studio work until May 2010. The writing and recording process spanned two years and was slowed down considerably by touring schedules. The album was finally finished in June 2010.

Mike Oldfield took the world of music by storm at the age of 19 in 1973 with the release of his debut album, "Tubular Bells", which hit the No.1 spot in numerous countries and has gone on to sell in excess of 16 million copies worldwide. A naturally shy man, it was not until the end of the decade that he began to play live on a regular basis. In 1981, by now a confident stage performer, he embarked on his European Adventure Tour, which took in the Montreux Festival in July, where he performed in front of an enthusiastic sold out audience.

    EAC-Rip | FLAC-image +cue +log +Booklet/Scans | 16 Mar 1998 | 339 MB
Genre: Rock, Pop Rock, New Wave | Label: Chrysalis | Fserve, Fsonic

Simple Minds signed to Chrysalis for Neapolis and saw the return of Derek Forbes on bass. Neapolis signals a return to form while remaining on the cutting edge. Unlike U2, the band they have been most often compared to, Simple Minds have not lost themselves in the techno beats and processed samples of their countrymen. Longtime fans will embrace this album; from the opening track, "Song for the Tribes," through the two singles, "Glitterball" and "War Babies," one immediately recognizes that classic sound. Other standout tracks include "Tears of a Guy," "Superman V Supersoul," and a potential third single, "Killing Andy Warhol." The biggest surprise on the album is "Androgyny," a welcomed instrumental in the tradition of their earlier works (see Empires and Dance, Sister Feelings Call, and Sons and Fascination).

The selection provides an ideal opportunity to sample this innovative musician's often eccentric but never dull performances, both in the studio and live.

On this Ray Brown CD, the veteran bassist virtually turned over the entire session to Moore.

Rattus Norvegicus is the first studio album by The Stranglers, released on 17 April 1977. The band's name was printed as "The Stranglers IV" on the sleeve. The album was originally to be entitled "Dead on Arrival" but was changed at the last minute. It was one of the highest-selling albums of the punk era in Britain, eventually achieving platinum record sales. The album's title is the taxonomic name for the common brown rat. It was produced in one week by Martin Rushent, and was basically a snapshot of the band's live set at the time. Some websites incorrectly list the title of the album as IV and the artist as Rattus Norvegicus. The first 20,000 copies of the original vinyl release included a free 7" single, containing "Peasant in the Big Shitty (live)" and "Choosie Susie".

Amalia Rodrigues liked to sing in other languages except Portuguese. In French, Italian and Spanish. This CD contains 12 songs related to Italy. Among them big Amalia's hits with Italian lyrics, like "Coimbra" and "Banco Negro", italian songs with portuguese lyrics, but also some great Italian songs like Sergio Endrico's "Canzone Per Te" where Amalia is really superb. An excellent album.
