Jarrett seems to me to have successfully bridged the jazz world with the classical, proving himself in the process to be quite a formidable Bach player. There is nothing gimmicky or shallow in his playing; indeed, his fine rhythmic sense allied to a lively feeling for gesture, his grasp of ornament and his sheer spontaneity are aspects of the jazz musician's craft as much as the classical player's and they serve Bach's music extremely well….

The quintet flirts with pop and art-rock and even trip-hop, aiming to position the jazz vocalist as an artist again within a popular form, but avoiding banalities and without giving up its intelligent elitist aroma.

This is a fine debut album with Imelda's own songs demonstrating her song writing talent that would really come into it's own on the second album. The recording has an immediacy and energy about it that suits the rockabilly sensibilities of the band. The songs range from the swinging 'Dealing with the Devil', to the gentle 'Once More' each showcasing this girl's great voice and the competence of the musicians.
