It is a fantastic mix of music with songs off of every album except St. Anger. Great mix of Death Magnetic and classic tallica tunes. The addition of Robert Trujillo in combination with Hetfield getting sober has made the band sound much better than they did throughout the 90's. These guys don't show their age on stage and kick maximum ass. Tearing into songs like Disposable Heros and pulling them off like it's 1986…

Beautiful guitar music by The Exotic Guitars, a group from Hawaii, with styles ranging from the resonant electro-twanging, to laguid rhythms from the sun-drenched shores of Hawaii. This kind of guitar music was very popular at the 60s and 70s, especially by groups that added their special "exotic" flavor, like The Exotic Guitars. Enjoy.

One of Kremer's most commanding performances, both polished and full of flair, magnetically spontaneous from first to last. The rule now seems that all the finest versions of the Beethoven Violin Concerto are being recorded live… Here is another, for Gidon Kremer's Teldec recording offers one of his most commanding performances, both polished and full of flair, magnetically spontaneous from first to last. Rarely have I heard such consistently pure tone in this work as from Kremer, and his achievement is set in place the more clearly, when my other new version offers the first recording of this work using period instruments. Harnoncourt may have expanded his sights beyond the period performance movement, but the lessons he learnt then are most imaginatively applied in his work with COE, earlier in his Beethoven symphony cycle, later in the Missa solemnis, and now in this Concerto. If Kremer regularly has you registering new detail in the solo part, the orchestral writing too is superbly realized, with magical sounds in the slow movement in particular.

    Industrial Death Metal

Always one determined to abide by no preconceived industry standards and stray far from conventionality are the Atlanta based quintet DAATH, who against all odds triumphantly return with their third full-length release. Their new self-titled release is extreme metal at its very best, plain and simple. The dueling guitar virtuosity of Emil Werstler and Eyal Levi harkens many comparisons to Mustaine and Friedman, all the while the acclaimed Kevin Talley (ex-Chimaira) pounds away with fury and precision further proving he is one of the genre's most accomplished players.

Historical recordings by Command, produced and originated by sound pioneer Enoch Light, to explore the limits of recording perfection. Terry Shnyder, a fabulous expert in American Latin drumming, a large orchestra with full reed, brass and rhythm sections and 4-5 famous percussionists, play really spectacular jazz music, improvisating on 36 familiar tracks. Since the source are pre-recorded HQ tapes, there is no scratch. These recordings were used as reference for stereo equipment testing.

This is an important recording for all sorts of reasons: Stamitz founded the Mannheim Orchestra which was the ancestor of all modern orchestras. The music is very beautiful and has lasted for 250 years, so you won't ever grow tired of it. This recording is probably closer to what he had in mind than he ever heard, as contemporary musicianship was supposed to be somewhat ropey: some contemporary musicians even regarded the invention of the metronome as a gross intrusion into the musician's freedom to speed up or slow down as he pleased.

The new CD is here - "Original Blues" on Shakehouse Records. The little house on the cover (Kansas City, Kansas) is the famous H&M BarBQ, or Grace's as it was known to many, which was a full juke joint every Friday and Saturday night around dusk 'til sunrise, from 1968-1994. There were times when the Blues party continued on into the next day! I had the privilege to work with the house band for several years in the mid '80s (Leon Estelle, Abb Locke, Jesse Dunn, Harrison Irons & Little Gilbert)"Original Blues" is available on this site for sale, or if you are a member of my mailing list, downloadable for free. The CD will be on the street everywhere on OCTOBER 12, 2010. Thanks to everyone that helped us get this far!

This was the last of the four albums El DeBarge recorded as a solo artist. Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds was the main producer but because of El's talents as an arranger and musician this album avoided the cookie cutter production tricks of Babyface. It's an album primarily of uptempo songs three stand outs: "Where You Are", "I'll Be There" and Starlight, Moonlight, Candelight. One of the two true funky dance tracks, "Slide" is a true Chicago steppin type of song. El's beatiful falestto voice on the slow jams "You Got the Love I Want and "You Are My Dream" reminds you of his late brother Robert "Bobby" DeBarge gorgeous voice. My favorite, the Cd's title track is the deeply spirtual and a tip of the hat to Marvin Gaye, "Heart, Mind.& Soul". This brotha is an underated singer, songwriter, and producer. I highly recommend downloading the entire Cd, you want be disappointed.

Recorded before the U.K. release of Swing While You're Winning, Robbie Williams's renditions of pop standards on Live at the Albert are at once delightful and disorienting. It's long been known that Williams is enamored of the Rat Pack, and here he lives out an illusion of being one of them. Clearly the jaunty singer is having a ball. The production is impeccable, the chorus girls are beautiful, his voice is in fine form–even his sweat-soaked, cuff-linked shirt hangs on him perfectly. But often Williams's trademark sarcasm and well-documented insecurities overshadow his love of the music. The strangest moment of the show occurs during an intermission, when MC Rupert Everett quizzes the audience on how much they love Robbie Williams. Although delivered with a wink, the stunt is most un-Rat Pack-like. The show as a whole seems like a surreal dream in which Robbie is at once working out his self-doubt and living his fantasy. And on a very conscious level, that is exactly what he is doing.
