Recorded between July and September 1973 at Air Studios, London, and released the following February, `The Man In The Bowler Hat' was Stackridge's third long-player. It was, by common consent, their finest achievement, both up to that point and in their entire seven-year career. The magic ingredient this album boasted was the involvement of an iconic musical figure: George Martin, producer of the Beatles until their split three years previously. 10 tracks including 'Fundamentally Yours', 'To The Sun And The Moon', 'Pinafore Days' and more. Angel Air. 2007.

Though Rockpile managed only one, nigh-perfect album at the height of the '80s new wave boom, its members–Dave Edmunds, Nick Lowe, Billy Bremner, and Terry Williams–had played together in various incarnations, in some instances for over a decade: Edmunds and drummer Williams had been in the '60s power trio Love Sculpture; all had played on Lowe's '78 album Jesus of Cool and Edmunds's '79 collection Repeat When Necessary. But Seconds of Pleasure became their most complete and satisfying pop statement–if their ironic swan song, as well.

The Twist with a twist by "mambo rey" Perez Prado. At the 60's twist was very popular and so was Perez Prado and his latin orchestra. The idea to combine them was really genius, as proven by the amazing sales of that album. Enjoy

After scoring a hit right out of the gate with her debut single, "Crush," Jennifer Paige called on the big guns for her follow-up. And so "These Days," Positively Somewhere's lead song, was cowritten by Phil Thornally, the former Cure bassist who put Natalie Imbruglia on the pop map in the late '90s. Sure enough, "These Days" has the platinum-plated attitude of something that's got "radio hit" written all over it. The rest of the album is surprisingly consistent considering that it was recorded all over the U.S. with 11 different producers. All the tracks share huge anthemic choruses you'll hate yourself for singing along with, and some oddball sonic touches that keep things interesting.

Vocal groups and styles came and went from the 1950s through the 1980s, but somehow the Drifters evolved and persevered, spanning doo-wop and disco before being relegated exclusively to the oldies touring circuit. Rockin' & Driftin' collects highlights from the group's embryonic Clyde McPhatter-led era (beginning with 1953's "Money Honey") into the mid-'70s, when the group still had some standing in the U.K. "On Broadway," "There Goes My Baby," "Up on the Roof," "Under the Boardwalk"–they're all included in this handsome, thoroughly annotated three-disc box set. All told, there are 79 selections here; the 16-song Very Best of the Drifters is a viable option for more casual fans interested in a selection of '59 to '64 smashes. More thorough-minded fans of vocal groups will find that Rockin' & Driftin' satisfies their hunger for Drifters nuggets great and small.

Martha Argerich has few peers in this repertoire today, and in terms of sheer spontaneity in performance she's simply in a class of her own. Chopin's concertos are early works, and they always have taken their share of abuse owing to the composer's somewhat clunky orchestration. Of course, no one ever has had anything to say against the piano part, which is marvelous and which dominates the proceedings to the point where the orchestra is pretty irrelevant anyway. What makes these performances so special is that Dutoit not only stays in the background, where he belongs, but actually manages to offer the kind of intimate support that allows Argerich to literally do whatever she wants. In this rare-to-find album, "A Recital By Tal Farlow", you will hear guitarist Farlow in a new and decidedly unfamiliar setting – as a part of a six-piece combination. Normally, of course, Farlow finds himself an integral corner of a jazz trio. Pleasant, unchallenging music.
