Patrick Bruel (born on May 14, 1959 in Tlemcen, Algeria) is a French singer, actor, and professional poker player of Algerian Jewish descent. As of 2004 Bruel has acted in more than 40 different television and film productions and made five studio albums and several live albums. In 2002 Bruel released Entre Deux, a double CD of classic chanson that features duets with Charles Aznavour, Jean-Louis Aubert, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Alain Souchon and Renaud, among others. It sold two million copies and made Bruel France's best paid singer of the year. At the beginning of 2005, in response to the South Asian tsunami of December 26, 2004, Bruel wrote the song "Et puis la terre" to benefit the Red Cross. His latest album "Des souvenir devant" was his 4th charttopper in France.

This CD presents a Soviet musician Oleg Yanchenko performing works both by the composers of the 16th — 17th centuries and modern organ music.

Following their debut on Dissident in 2008, great things have been expected from Italo revivalists Den Haan. Gods From Outer Space, their debut long player, certainly delivers on that early promise. Packed to the rafters with hard analogue synthesizer grooves, retro-futurist melodies, dark dancefloor thrills and spiraling, John Carpenter-ish atmospherics, it's a veritable romp through delightfully authentic Italo, Hi-NRG, Eurodisco and New Wave pastures. In true Eurodisco style, there are some hilariously camp low-range vocals (see "Russian Boat Commander" and "Release The Beast") and plenty of fist-pumping, Moroder-ish basslines. It may be inspired by musical nostalgia, but Gods From Outer Space is a contemporary delight.

Stefano Landi, who was Monteverdi's junior by about 20 years, was active in Rome, whereas Monteverdi was based in Venice. Landi spent two formative years in Venice, though, and absorbed the progressive musical ideas of Monteverdi and other seconda prattica composers. That contact would explain why Il Sant'Alessio (1632) sounds like a Monteverdi opera. Its expressive recitatives, melodically gratifying set pieces, mixture of serious and comic elements, and the complex psychology of its characters make it a piece that should appeal to opera fans who love L'incoronazione di Poppea.

CD pressing of this 1978 album from the former Velvet Underground member and Rock 'n' Roll icon. Street Hassle has been referred to as 'the angrier, younger sibling to Reed's eloquent, mature New York', which was released over a decade later, and was also cited as his most creative since '73's Berlin. An album teeming with the lyrical hell of drug addicts and desperate misfits, Street Hassle does possess elements of Reed's pitch-black humor. "Gimme Some Good Times" playfully samples "Sweet Jane", and Reed sings the strangely sunny words of "Real Good Time Together" against a morbid wash of distorted guitar effects and vocals. A mix of New York studio recordings and fine live performances recorded in West Germany, Street Hassle is a curious and compelling coda to Reed's tumultuous and ever-changing '70s work. Bruce Springsteen makes an uncredited spoken-word appearance in the last movement of the album's title track.
