    Melodic Heavy Metal

Multinational Melodic Metallers EDEN`S CURSE return with their brand new studio album “Trinity”, their first since the critically acclaimed 2008 release “The Second Coming”. Aptly titled, ‘’Trinity’’ the third album in the group, is the best yet from Eden’s Curse and possibly is as good an album as you’re likely to hear all year. No doubt album #4 will be subtlety titled ‘Quadraphonic’ or something equally similar. “Trinity” is a classy affair that sees EDEN`S CURSE once again take steps forward and cements their place alongside many of their contemporaries in today´s European Melodic Metal scene. After two successful and extremely well received albums, now “Trinity” shows EDEN`S CURSE even more improved and powerful than ever before.

    Viking/Folk/Black Metal

Strange band this Kromlek. They use several languages such as German, English and Swedish, but it is for the biggest part in German. They are a pagan black folk metal band. The music is heavy and for most of the time leaning closer to black metal than folk, they don't use the usual flutes and polka beats a lot, like most of the bands in this genre do. The black metal influences lay on top and that makes them different from the general folk bands. They were supported by Mark and Joris (members of Heidevolk) and Equilibrium's mastermind René Berthiaume - all three do some vocal stuff.

    Heavy Metal

This EP is a prelude to their new album ‘REV-Raptor’ that will be released on May, 20. The ‘Leatherhead’ is a tribute to the Heavy Metal scene and its fans that are die hard. Straight and heavy riffs, relentless and heavy to the core I think that this song is gonna be a major metal hit. The ‘Rock’n’Roll Soldiers’ describes perfectly the very essence of U.D.O. and the personal stance of all the band members, from the days of ACCEPT back in the 70’s till now. The ‘Free or Rebellion’ and ‘Run!’ though they can be found in ‘Thundervision’ DVD are excellent add-ons, with the former bringing to my mind the ‘I’m a Rebel’ days and the latter to have something from the low but heavy pace of ‘Can’t Stand the Night’. In short, as MANOWAR once sung “whimpers and posers leave the hall”. And one should be certain, U.D.O. practice what they preach!

Antonio Vivaldi is best known for his concertos. Of the 241 violin concertos he composed, many of them have got programmatic nicknames. Italian baroque violinist Enrico Casazza, violin solo of the ensemble "The Musiche Nove," has selected six concertos whose names all refer to human passions ("L'Amoroso" or "The Inquietudine). The bonus CD includes four concertos originally composed for other instruments than the violin. These works were arranged for violin and string orchestra by Vivaldi specialist Pablo Queipo de Llano.

A self-described ''a three-headed beast,'' Erland & the Carnival consists of vocalist Erland Cooper; drummer David Nock - producer and engineer to stars like The Orb, Paul McCartney, David Gilmour; and Simon Tong - former member of The Good the Bad & the Queen, The Verve and now guitar-for-hire for Gorillaz. Taking a post-modern approach to traditional English folk, the band strips down songs, building them back up into totally new orchestral creations…

2009 Deluxe Edition of the Irish Punk band's brilliant debut album, released to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the original album's release. This excellent reissue features the original 14 track album plus an additional 17 audio tracks (b-sides, radio sessions) and an enhanced video for 'Teenage Kicks'. The Undertones debut release - and particularly 'Teenage Kicks' - has long been regarded as one of the purest expressions of teenage Punk Pop. As bassist Michael Bradley says there was 'No plot, no theme, no parodies of any genre'. The Undertones 1979 debut is an off-the-cuff collection from five Derry kids with nothing to lose.

Callahan is back! Eessentially an ensemble recorded live in the studio, Callahan's Apocalypse is the corpus delecti. Something happened here! If tape is like meat, this record is the whole hog! Callahan, riding on the back of his band, corrals them all & guides them single-handedly through the valley with love & ferocity. This record makes us wonder what has really happened in the last 100 years, & what will happen in the next 10. The soul of your country called and left you a message. 7 messages.

In Brahms's Op 117-19, music like 'the golden lustre of parks in autumn, and the austere black and white of winter walks' (William Ritter), Lupu draws you into his confidence as only he can. The halting progressions of Op 119 No 2 (something Rachmaninov later remembered in his F major Prelude, Op 32 No 7) is perfectly qualified by its rapturous middle section and throughout all these pieces Lupu draws you into a crepuscular world of such poetic resource that you finally emerge blinking into the often banal reality of everyday life.

This is a major set, "new" music from John Coltrane that was recorded February 15, 1967, (five months before his death) but not released for the first time until 1995. One of several "lost" sessions that were stored by Alice Coltrane for decades, only one selection ("Offering" which was on Expression) among the eight numbers and three alternates was ever out before. The music, although well worth releasing, offers no real hints as to what Coltrane might have been playing had he lived into the 1970s.

Light in its darkness, claustrophobic in its panorama, distant in its intimacy, present in its time-lessness; WIT'S END should be given one's full and undivided attention. With sounds that conjure the colours purple and black, this is his darkest record to date. It seems Cass is going deeper into the mania of a man buried alive inside his self-made Cata-combs, banging the stone walls, crying to be let out, and enjoying the quiet away from the out-side world. However, he is not a man afraid of his own shadow, for in this environment of complete dark-ness, no shadows can be cast. This is a world of total Feeling. Here, words become a catalyst away from the slavery of arbitrary Thought and toward Feeling.
