Portuguese dark-rock/metal band HEAVENWOOD release its fourth album, entitled "Abyss Masterpiece" .The "Abyss Masterpiece" artwork was created by Matthew Vickerstaff of Darkwave Art, who has previously worked with CRADLE OF FILTH, MY DYING BRIDE, GODFLESH, CARCASS, MENDEED, CATHEDRAL, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, THE HAUNTED, SOIL and DEICIDE. Commented HEAVENWOOD guitarist Ricardo Dias: "'Abyss Masterpiece' perfectly symbolizes all the feelings that flow on each one of the songs included in this album — an album that will be dark, deep, melancholic, and above all with a very intense sound on which each song have their own soul. Anorexia Nervosa’s music could be described as modern Black Metal with some great symphonic arrangements with a very elegant touch; the song structures are good although at some times a little bit more of variation would have made them more impressive; and the musicianship is actually quite good.The definitive highlight of the album has to be Neb Xort, whose keyboards and synth arrangements are excellent. The band’s elegant sound is accomplished because of these arrangements and that is what makes the band shine. Great taste Mr. Xort!
