Another great album, from the Limited Edition Series "2LP in 1CD" released by MINOS-EMI in 1991. It contains 2 LP of Giorgos Dalaras, "Small Cities" (Mikres polities) from 1974 and "The Singer" (O Tragoudistis) from 1983. At 1974, Dalaras was already one of the most popular singers in Greece and his albums had all become best-sellers. The music of "Small Cities" is by the great composer Stavros Kougioumtzis, while the second LP contains songs by Christos Nikolopoulos, a very popular composer and bouzouki virtuoso. All the songs are remastered from the original LP.

Sadao Bekku (b. 1922) began his studies at Tokyo Imperial University, where he majored in experimental physics. While always interested in music, he did not formally begin study until winning a national prize for one of his compositions in 1948. Encouraged by his early success, Bekku would travel to Paris in the early '50s to study with Milhaud and Messiaen. The French influence would dominate his later works, both aesthetically and in the francophone titles he would give his works. His first two symphony (out of a total of five) date from 1961 and 1975 respectively and are written in a broadly late Romantic idiom, reminiscent of early Messiaen or Florent Schmitt, but having a distinctive rhytmic drive. As with many Japanese composers of his generation, Bekku would write numerous film scores, arguably the most famous being the music he wrote for the Japanese cult/Sci-Fi film "Attack of the Mushroom People."

Her Tres Dei Matris Symphoniae (Three Symphonies of the Mother of God) is not a conventional oratorio but a symphony, or three symphonies with choir which embrace the Revelation, the Birth of Jesus and the Crucifixion in settings of the Ave Maria, Gloria, Stabat Mater and Hildegard von Bingen’s O clarissima Mater. The effect is of hearing something both deeply familiar and eternally new, rich material for personal contemplation.

Sofia Asgatovna Gubaidulina was born on October 24, 1931, in Chistopol', in the Tatar Republic; growing up there, Gubaidulina would bind peculiar fusion of Eastern and Western into dramatic polarities in her later work. She graduated from the Kazan' Conservatory in 1954 having studied composition and piano; she then left for Moscow, where she studied at the Conservatory with Nikolay Peyko until 1959, and then with Shebalin until 1963. Already by this time, Gubaidulina was marked as an "irresponsible" composer on "a mistaken path"; Shostakovich, among others, supported her however, advising her to "continue along [her] mistaken path."
