Catalonian composer Xavier Montsalvatge began violin lessons at the age of nine, around the same time as his father's death and his move to Barcelona to live with his grandfather. This move later allowed him to attend the Barcelona Conservatory and numerous concerts that greatly influenced him. His teachers at the conservatory were Francisco Costa for violin and Enrique Morera and Jaume Pahissa for composition. He himself became a teacher at the school in 1933. His first important works were the 1934 Tres impromptus for piano, for which he won the Rabell prize from the Patxot Foundation, and the Suite burlesca, for which he won the Pedrell prize in 1936. Karol Szymanowski spent his early years in Ukraine (where many affluent Polish families still owned land at the time). An injury to the leg forced young Karol into a life of relative inactivity, and, from age seven on, attendance at school was replaced by rigorous musical studies (first under his father's tutelage, and then, from 1892 on, at Gustav Neuhaus' music school in Elisavetgrad). Although early training focused on the piano, Neuhaus was quick to observe his young student's potential as a composer. While in Elisavetgrad, Szymanowski was introduced to the German classics as well as to Chopin and Scriabin. ‘All Tomorrow’s Funerals’, is the latest chapter in the history of the death metal legends. This monstrous release contains new studio tracks recorded late 2011 - including a re-recorded version of classic oldie 'Mauled to Death' - plus all of Autopsy's past EP's & rarities which have been specially remastered by the band themselves, totalling 22 tracks all together, resulting in over 73 minutes of sickness.

Album of the Andalusian singer Rocío Jurado (1946-2006), arguably the figure and most acclaimed female voice and winning in Spain and Latin in the second half of last century. It was named Best Female Voice of the twentieth century (the Voice of the Millennium Prize) awarded the 2000 in New York with a history of 150 gold records and 63 platinum albums during his career. Among their albums near the Quarantine original recordings, not counting compilations, this CD, released in 1991, is one of the ten last edited on life the singer.

Like several of Hammond's early albums, this 1968 effort would ultimately sound less impressive than it did at the time, simply because the original versions of the ten songs Hammond covered would become much more accessible. The material selected did testify to his good taste, but also stuck to the tried-and-true, including classics like "Dust My Broom," "Crosscut Saw….

This band is really a discovery worth as they skillfully fresh Russian folk music combined with bluegrass. This CD was recorded in America, and produced, sometimes slightly to smooth. Spontaneous and direct the combination of these styles on Gadfly album endless story thus, that was recorded in Russia and the band in the period of 1988-1998 shows the career. Also the singer Irina Suriña, that clearly characterizes this band with her Bell-clear voice must be mentioned.

Although his personal life was plagued with troubles during the late '80s, Steve Earle wrote a wealth of first-rate songs during that time and the majority of those tunes are collected on the double-disc set Ain't Ever Satisfied. Spanning his career from 1985's Guitar Town to 1991's Shut Up and Die Like an Aviator, Ain't Ever Satisfied hits nearly every high point. It's an excellent retrospective, illustrating exactly why Earle was one of the most acclaimed country singer/songwriters of the latter half of the '80s.–by Thom Owens
