The style origins of Boris Tishchenko’s piano music are extremely diversified. A keen ear will identify in it echoes of works by Shostakovich and Prokofiev, Hindemith and Bartok… Anyway, its artistic space is so forceful and attractive that “a stranger’s word” too gets a new, original sound in it. It retains its identifiability in all genres, among which are variations, cycles of pieces, and sonatas. The sonatas are the most tangible part of the composer’s heritage; he addressed this genre throughout his life. This is a very unusual–and pleasurable–collection of 20th century works for assorted percussion for solo performer. The soloist in question here is Odd Borge Sagland and it's clear that he is thoroughly familiar with a wide range of instruments, particularly the marimba–and he also knows how to choose a program that will demonstrate his artistry while offering strong listener appeal. Rather than the predictably showy, gimmicky kinds of pieces we usually find on percussion recordings, each of these six works has a solid meditative character–no can banging here. After a protracted legal battle with Blue Thumb Records, Dave Mason finally signed to Columbia and released the hopefully titled It's Like You Never Left, his first new studio solo album in more than three years. Mason received prominent vocal assistance from Graham Nash, who helped turn tracks like "Every Woman" into singers' showcases.

Soldiers Under Command is the second release, and first full-length studio album from Christian metal band Stryper, released in 1985. It was the first Christian metal album to achieve Gold record status, selling more than half a million copies. The album was originally issued on white vinyl. The Live in Japan in-concert video, released in 1986, was filmed on July 8, 1985 during Stryper's tour in support of this album.

The two trouser roles are marvellously sung and believable! Kasarova and Garanca may not look butch but one won't forget they're playing male characters. And the romantic scenes are tastefully done, and don't look gratuitous (gotta show how Vitellia controls Sesto, after all). There is no nudity in it (Vitellia changes her clothes a lot on stage,but she is always covered)…
