With the departure of vocalist John Foxx and guitarist Robin Simon behind them, Vienna kicked off Ultravox's second phase with former Rich Kids vocalist Midge Ure at the helm. Trading Foxx's glam rock stance for Ure's aristocratic delivery, Vienna recasts the band as a melodramatic synth pop chamber ensemble with most of the group doubling on traditional string quartet instruments and the synthesizers often serving to emulate an orchestra. It was a bold move that took awhile to pay off (the first two singles, "Sleepwalk" and "Passing Strangers," went unnoticed), but when the monolithic title track was released, the Ure lineup became the band's most identifiable one almost overnight.

Album released in Spain and performed by the 'Banda sinfónica Municipal de Madrid' under the baton of renowned director Enrique Garcia-Asensio. This book makes # 4 of the series of 15 recordings to date has published in recent times, as the band began their career over a century in 1909. This CD brings together a very selected collection of 18 pasodobles of bullfighting, without missing some of the greats of the genre.

Album released in Spain performed by Andalusian flamenco singer Mancheño Manuel Peña, aka. "Turronero '. Born in a gipsy family in the early sixties he worked in Madrid singing for the dance, until he was discovered by the great dancer Antonio Gades, who joined him with the dance team for four years traveling all over the world. Turronero was specialized in 'soleá', 'bulerías' and 'fandangos', but he also lavished songs from Cadiz, 'tangos', 'cantiñas', 'tanguillos', etc. This album offers a ten topics repertoire, nine tanguillos and onepasodoble.

Although Roger Sessions' Violin Concerto (1935) is considered one of his major works (and Elliott Carter, in his program notes for this recording, calls it one of the outstanding works of its era) it has never caught on with performers or audiences, either in concert or on recordings. Part of its neglect may be traced to the cultural climate in America at the time of its composition. In the midst of their own Depression, with disturbingly dark clouds gathering over Europe, Americans were more open to new music with the sunny, jazzy ease of Gershwin than to Sessions' relatively cerebral abstractions in a distinctly modernist tonal language……
