Gerhard completed his unnumbered Symphony "Homanaje a Pedrell" twelve years before his Symphony No 1 (1952-3). Its genesis may have been a long drawn-out affair, the opening movement suggesting that is did not begin as a symphony. Danish thrashers HATESPHERE released their eighth studio album, "Murderlust", on September 27 via Massacre Records. The CD was recorded at Antfarm Studios in Aarhus, Denmark with producer Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, SICK OF IT ALL, MOONSPELL, DARK TRANQUILLITY) and it once again features cover artwork by MNEMIC's Mircea Gabriel Eftemie.

There will be songs about death by electric chair, a soldier who's killing others during war, death due to illness or life after death."The cover artwork of 'Trail Of Death' was created by Jens Reinhold of ZENZ-ART, who is also responsible for album artworks for bands like Sodom, Freedom Call or Enemy Of The Sun. The artwork features the reaper who's carrying something like a petrol lamp with a burning soul in it. The lamp is a metaphor for burning in hell for eternity."

The music by David Felder (b. 1953) and Andrew Rindfleisch (b. 1963) on this disc couldn't be more different in concept or atmosphere. What these artful composers share is an abiding curiosity for aural imagery--how color both of instrumental and electronic persuasion melds with programmatic ideas to produce compelling, challenging and forceful narratives. Felder and Rindfleisch have spent their careers delving into the unknown while retaining connections with the near and distant pasts. The influences in the scores performed here are numerous, with nods to jazz and myriad 20th-century techniques. But most important is the way each piece inhabits a distinctive sonic world through novel performing forces that open up the expressive potential of the topics at hand. In revealing the salient qualities in each score, the music making of the Slee Sinfonietta tells us much about the complementary creativity of Felder and Rindfleisch even as it renders the pairing of these composers something on the order of ideal.

Goldfrapp fans know to expect changes from album to album, but the switch in direction between Head First and Tales of Us is one of the duo's most drastic about-faces. Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory's sixth album trade the neon nostalgia of Head First's synth pop for a subtler, more complex sound that evokes Felt Mountain's lushness and Seventh Tree's acoustic confessions. Tales of Us could be seen as a cross between those two works – and Goldfrapp have certainly covered enough territory that they could live out their days making hybrids of their earlier music – but there's more to the album than that.

Lee Ji-eun (born May 16, 1993), better known by her stage name IU, is a South Korean singer and actress. Her stage name is derived from the phrase "I and You", symbolizing that we can become one through music. Her fan club name is U-ana (Uaena), where each syllable has a different meaning: "you" is from English, "ae" is Sino-Korean for "love", and "na" is Korean for "me". In 2012, IU ranked #19 on "The 23rd Annual Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful Faces."

American Flute Quintets features music performed by renowned flutist Carol Wincenc and four founding members of the festival's artist faculty... A large set of variations on a lullaby by Amy Beach (1867-1944) is the disc's sturdy anchor, but Arthur Foote's (1853-1937) aromatic "Night Pieces" and Joan Tower's (b. 1938) insistent, forceful "Rising" hold even greater appeal.
