Arbee Stidham became known to British blues fans through his later recordings as a guitarist/singer during the folk/blues revival of the early sixties but he had earlier been signed to RCA Victor as a vocalist backed by small horn & piano based groups. Hiram Bullock is best known as the bare-footed lead guitarist in the old Late Nite With Letterman house band. A student under Pat Metheny at Miami, a member of David Sanborn's old band, and a well-traveled session player, Bullock has recorded eight solo albums since 1986. In the past, Bullock generated a fairly conventional sound by marrying loud improvised guitar with funk. But this album stands out because of its seamless blend of Latin, Afro-Cuban and Brazilian influences. Carrasco may be the best album yet by a Late Nite or Late Show alum...

The idea probably looked good on paper. Why not combine Buddy Rich's Quintet of 1959 (which consisted of altoist Phil Woods, trombonist Willie Dennis, pianist John Bunch and bassist Phil Leshin) with Max Roach's band of the time (consisting of trumpeter Tommy Turrentine, tenor saxophonist Stanley Turrentine, trombonist Julian Priester and bassist Bobby Boswell)? This CD reissues all of the music (including four "new" alternate takes) but the excess of drum solos and the relative brevity of space given to the horns results in a great deal of sameness from track to track. An unexpected bore.

Daniel Schuhmacher is known most notably for winning the sixth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, the German edition of Pop Idol. The Album is the debut album of Daniel. It was released on June 19, 2009 and produced by Dieter Bohlen.

The Beat Daddys' new bump and grind CD, "Five Moons" makes you want to, well . . . . . bump and grind. The duo has called Malaco Records of Jackson, Mississippi home, since 1990. Drummers and bass players come and go, but the core of the Beat Daddys has remained Larry Grisham on lead vocals and Britt Meacham on lead guitar for 20 years. Larry says that they are the few, possibly, only white players signed by Malaco. Paul Scott is the band's drummer and they are actively seeking a full-time bassist.
All tracks of the new album were written by Grisham who lives in a FEMA trailer in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. His 6'5". frame doesn't fit into the "queen-sized" bed so he sleeps diagonally, and his feet still hang over the end, and his head hits the wall behind him. It's parked in the middle of a cow pasture which turns to mush at the first sign of rain. "But it's a place to stay, anyway. Getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night is an experience." He spends most of his days on the road, sleeping in motel and hotel rooms, spreading the wealth of the Beat Daddys experience. His parents lived on the bay in Bay St. Louis and lost everything to Katrina. They now live in Newburgh, Indiana…..

The American strip club is known as many things, but rarely (to UK & European ears anyway), as a testing ground for new club music. In actual fact many DJs test their new tracks out in these salacious settings because the girls gotta have something good to dance to, right? Jimmy Edgar's 'XXX' takes the strip joint as a well of inspiration, crafting a late night, low-lit electro vibe with a rich seam of sexy technoid R'n'B tucked firmly in the pocket. This takes the form of Prince-styled machine funk on 'Function Of Your Love', sensual slowfast bounce on 'Midnite Fone Call' or a superbly lubed slowjam on 'Sleep Connexion Date', all sounding very much grown up and refined from Edgar's earliest IDM efforts. That's not to say he's dropped the crafty glitches and complex arrangements, they're still clearly evident as with recent single 'Hot Raw Sex' and the hyperventilated glitch gasps of 'One Twenty Detail' or the Zapp-esque electrofunk of 'New Touch', but this is definitely a more turned on and spruced up approach from Edgar that works a treat.

Pietro Nardini (1722-1793) was one of those typical violinists /composers in the vein of Giuseppe Tartini whose pupil he had been. Most works in his oeuvre call for the violin, both in orchestral and chamber pieces.
Although he himself had a great aptitude for the violin his solo concertos as was his performance style are not ostentatiously showing off technical skills. Apparently his own playing was incredibly moving, but he felt best at home in smaller scale works such as the sonatas.

Alpha Wave Movement's 'Subtle Circuitry' is a very fine opener combining lovely contemporary sounding ticking rhythm over a superb understated melodic lead shimmer. Another pulsating lead line comes to join the first and even though much of this track comes over as rather understated it is also deceptively complex and absorbing, drawing you in. It's the sort of track you can play time and time again without ever getting bored and is thus a wonderful way to get started. The end of this track is cross-faded into Architexture's 'Shores of Orion'. A very nice acoustic guitar type lead shines over some drifting whooshing backing. A repeated melodic motif creates a rather hypnotic focus as the track just continues on, providing a sedate soothing atmos.

“Nothing To Wish For (Nothing To Lose)” is a musical collage of colorful noises over a background of extremely sentimental phonetic and idyllic melodies. It is like musical paint full of intense colors, and at the same time like an abstract art with dark disposal. It touches upon the atmosphere and the chaotic intensity of dream pop music and is hiding through post rock paths. It loses a little bit of the noise their previous album “Daylight Storms” had, but it is stronger in composition structures and sentimentally. It has an erotic style that contains beautiful and planned well melodies, full of excellent guitars that they engrave on your skin. The voice of Matt Bartram has something different and gains you sympathy immediately. The sound is old fashioned, but emerges and creates fresh musical ideas. The guitars vary, the rhythm plays extremely with the drums and the dark noise from the keys and the suitable sound effects make the atmosphere light, plain and magic. This is the best shoegaze release after their previous one. No one can reach them they are the best. As I said in the single review they are unique. This Is a Fantastic album.
