Bros (abbreviation of the word 'brothers', and pronounced to rhyme with 'cross') were a British boy band active in the late 1980s and early 1990s, consisting of twin brothers Matt Goss and Luke Goss along with Craig Logan. They were managed by former Pet Shop Boys manager Tom Watkins.
Push was the debut album of Bros. The album reached #2 on the UK Top 40 and spawned five hit singles, including the reissue of "I Owe You Nothing" which reached #1 in June 1988.

One day I was in the record store, looking for something new to listen to. As I perused the different sections I stumbled across a CD called "Beyond The Thunder." It had a guy playing guitar in the cover, and the layout was nice, so I thought, "What the heck." I took it to the listening counter and asked them to pop it in, and for the next hour or so I was entranced. Here was guitar music like I'd never heard before. It had elements of rock, blues, jazz, world beat, and so much passion. I was swept away but Schon's ability to play guitar, especially on tracks like Bandalero, Cool Breeze, and Send Me An Angel. Bandalero has to be one of the greatest songs I've ever heard, and I can't say enough about how it makes me feel.

This is the last recording of the Trio as we used to know it, and I love it. If you are a Brad Mehldau-fan only because he occasionally covers Radiohead, this might be over your head .But if you loved PLACES or Elegiac Cycle and love the original compositions that one can find on all of Mehldau's previous releases, go for it. These songs are truly beautiful and as with all of his originals: they grow on you intensly. If you loved Art of the Trio, this is a gorgeous swan song for the first Mehldau Trio which should not fail in your collection.

J.J. Cale's fourth album "Troubadour" would have been appealing even if it were an instrumental album, on account of the delicious instrumental textures. Hey Baby charms the listener with its intricate guitar whilst Travelin' Light is a rhythmic up-tempo excursion with hypnotic percussion. One of the longest tracks is You Got Something, a yearning love song with brilliant instrumental interplay. The romantic Ride Me High is a masterpiece of expressive guitar and percussion, the brief track Hold On is a slow bluesy interlude and then follows the familiar hit Cocaine (later a hit for Eric Clapton) with its powerful rock guitar riffs……..
