Paul-Alain Leclerc, popularly known as Julien Clerc (born 4 October 1947 in Paris) is a French singer. His father was a UNESCO employee and his mother is from Guadeloupe. Many of the chansons he sings were written by Étienne Roda-Gil, a long-time collaborator. His brother, Gérard Leclerc, is a political commentator on France 3. For a time he was involved with French actress Miou-Miou, who in 1978 bore him a daughter, Jeanne Herry. Like her father, Jeanne has pursued a career in show business, albeit as an actress and comedian rather than as a singer. He later married equestrian jumping rider Virginie Couperie. They have two children: Vanille and Barnabé.

Throughout their career Magnum have been based around the core of lead vocalist Bob Catley and guitarist/songwriter Tony Clarkin, who wrote the majority of 'The Visitation'. Magnum broke up in 1994, and 'The Visitation' is their fifth album since their 2002 reunion record, 'Breath Of Life'

More than any other member of Fela Anikulapo Kuti's early bands, drummer Tony Allen can be said to have co-invented Afrobeat. Kuti provided the funk/jazz/Yoruba folk music themes and arrangements - plus the trademark insurrectionary lyrics and, crucially in the face of vicious and ongoing state attempts to silence the band, the leadership. (The buck sure enough stopped with Kuti, a man of extraordinary integrity and courage.) Allen provided that unique Afrobeat rhythm - a majestic, straight to your feet, loose-limbed but heavy shuffle.
