Passengers blocked by a blizzard in an airport on the 60th parallel. During the prelude Wim, a fugitive war criminal, recognises a certain Uwe Straub among the passengers. Knowing the man is carrying compromising documents, he follows him and kills him in the toilets. Rudy, who has long been hunting Wim, has witnessed this and starts a conversation with him. Anja is taking Maria on holiday to Miami to help her to forget a man. During the night, when everyone is asleep, she secretly confesses her love. Doctor Wittkop, an old, bemused scholar, is preparing a lecture on Einstein's brain, which he has just acquired. An old woman, a wanderer, a stewardess, a voice from an airport loudspeaker that utters strange phrases … destinies meeting whilst awaiting a hypothetical departure.

Terrorizer is an American grindcore and death metal band formed in 1986 in Los Angeles, California. After disbanding, its members gained recognition by playing in influential extreme metal bands, such as Morbid Angel (David Vincent, Pete Sandoval), Napalm Death (Jesse Pintado) and Nausea (Oscar Garcia, Alfred "Garvey" Estrada). The group released their inaugural album, World Downfall, in 1989, and it was is regarded as one of the most influential grindcore albums ever: it showcases crunchy, heavily distorted guitar riffs and extremely fast and precise blast beats in addition to growling, harsh vocals and lyrics dealing with social issues, features that would become a standard among grindcore music, as of the cover art, which is similar to Napalm Death's Scum depicting a collage of islamic terrorists, nuclear power plant, dead bodies and Jesus rising. About a third of the songs were actually Nausea material, the previous band of vocalist Oscar Garcia. The album was released in 1989 when the band had already split-up, with members Jesse Pintado, David Vincent and Pete Sandoval going respectively to seminal death metal bands Napalm Death and Morbid Angel.

German composer Cornelius Schwehr is a new breed in terms of creating new or avant garde music. As this disc will attest, the first thing he's done is eschewed the serial tradition altogether. Schwehr is a texturalist. He likes the way instruments feel in and of themselves and the way they work with and against each other's textures to create slurred harmonics, new voicings, and parsed intervals.

This is the first release in Hungaroton's projected multi-volume collection of the percussion music of John Cage. Though Cage's experiments in sound go back more than 60 years, his ideas about discrete percussive constructions (especially on prepared piano) have only begun to make themselves known–or perhaps have only recently become intelligible, thanks in large measure to the music of his greatest student, Morton Feldman.

By any reckoning this is a most impressive debut recording. Nicola Benedetti, since becoming BBC Young Artist of the Year last May, has won a major contract with DG. Born in Scotland of Italian stock, she studied at the Menuhin School before deciding at 15— against advice — to study on her own and then with a new teacher, Maciej Rakowski. Her firmness has certainly paid off. At 17 she displays in each of these items the temperament, concentration and imagination of a great artist in the making, quite apart from her virtuoso technique. The centrepiece is the Szymanowski First Violin Concerto, the work she played in the final of the BBC competition, and the passion of her performance is remarkable, even suggesting a parallel with the young du Pre. Daniel Harding draws intense playing from the LSO and the impact of the performance is heightened by the relatively close balance of soloist and orchestra, hitting home very hard in the exotic climaxes.

Maria-Elisabeth Lott is more than a child prodigy when it comes to the violin. She performs with the presence of an adult: confident, mature, informed. A grown prodigy himself, Yehudi Menuhin said of the rising star: "When she is 13 she will be just as good as I was at that age." Though she was still 12 years old when this album was recorded, her remarkable understanding beyond her years is copiously evident. Lott plays with authority, her interpretations astute and surprisingly sober for a child performer. Mozart's compositions are, of course, lilting and playful, but there is a lightness of heart often associated with children's performances (sometimes mistaken for shallowness) that isn't present. Tinged with longing, Lott's sound is almost nostalgic, as if she has achieved wisdom far beyond her years. This is a CD full of magic. Lott's aura is augmented by the fact that she plays Mozart's own violin. A child violin approximately one third the standard size, the instrument was provided by the International Mozarteum Foundation, which sponsored this recording.

The American violinist and conductor, Yehudi Menuhin, had one of the longest and most distinguished careers of any violinist of the 20th century. Menuhin was born in New York of Russian-Jewish parents, recent immigrants to America. By the age of seven his performance of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto had found him instant fame.

Trip the Light Fantastic is the third solo album by British pop singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor. It was released on May 21, 2007 following the release of the lead single, "Catch You" and the second single, "Me and My Imagination". The album was available on the internet on May 18, 2007, three days before the UK release date. It debuted inside the UK top 10 at #7.
