His sound is almost indistinguishable from that of the original soul performers back in the 60's - it is that authentic. Ryan has concentrated on mid tempo soul offerings and his sound is very much from Southern Soul genre such as Stax/James Carr/Sam Cooke. 2 of the 10 songs are well known covers: People Get Ready & Knock On Wood which he performs very well. However if you like 60's soul then you will almost certainly like this.
