In the early 1730s Bach revised his E flat major Magnificat of 1723, transposing it to D major and omitting the interpolations peculiar to Christmas performances in Leipzig. (Recent research suggests such richly scored Latin Magnificats could be performed in Lutheran churches at some 15 annual festivals, not just the three – Xmas, Easter, Ascension – previously supposed.)

”Lenka” is the self-titled debut album by Australian singer/songwriter Lenka. It was released 23 September, 2008 through Epic Records. This is Lenka's first solo album after having been a member of the group Decoder Ring.

Fresh from their recent triumphs at the London Proms, sisters Labeque (Katia et Marielle Labèque) present their first recording of the music of Erik Satie. The disc starts with the two pianists taking turns interpreting his ever-popular Gymnopedie. The other solo works are divided between Katia and Marielle in consideration of their respective temperaments. The pair are finally reunited in duets from the first and last collections of Satie's pieces for four hands ("Pour piano à deux et à quatre mains").

Talib Kweli is arguably the most accessible alternative rapper. Throughout his extensive career, Kweli has had glimmers of mainstream success with songs like “Get By” and “Never Been in Love,” but for the most part he has remained under the casual listener’s radar, while his lyricism has been championed by Hip Hop heads and hipsters alike.

Leading the modern revival of old school heavy thrash metal in France is Evil One, returning with their sophomore release Militia of Death. As with their previous work, Evil One gets some help from some metal heavy hitters including, once again, Jeff Waters (Annihilator) on the title track, but also local comrade Betov of ADX, Gerre from Tankard, and Herman Frank of Accept. Frank mixed and mastered the album, and the cover art was supplied by Andreas Marshall (Running Wild, Blind Guardian, et al) who turned the band into zombies.

The album was recorded with participation of Sergey Bredis – vocal (Inexist ) and Anton Kravchenko – bass (-t De Sangre). The album was mixed and mastered in «Navahohut» (Moscow) led by Arkady Navaho.
