A composer who was quite familiar to Mozart's operatic audiences, Domenico Cimarosa was the prolific creator of over 60 operas. In addition to operas, Cimarosa left behind oratorios, masses, and cantatas, and some instrumental music.
The music of the Milhaud's Symphony No. 10 is typical of the composer's work at the time. Its polytonality and frequent recourse to spiky melodic lines makes it a work that often moves in jolts rather than smooth flow. Its harmonic language is polytonal, meaning that different lines of the music are in different keys from one another. This results in a high level of dissonance whose effect ranges from charmingly spicy to dense and hard-edged. The work remains tonal, though the almost constant presence of tones ………
The band Inquisition was formed in 1988 in Cali, Colombia by Dagon. The band started as a thrash metal act, and in 1994 evolved into raw black metal.In 1996, Dagon left Colombia and moved back to the United States to continue Inquisition and search for a new drummer. This line-up has remained stable for more than fifteen years and is now seen as the classic Inquisition line-up. INQUISITION style of black metal involves slow, deep and dark riffing combined with sudden tempo changes to faster sections based around blast beats and high-speed riffing; at times adding melodic solos.

Wildlife's second album (after the very average 'Burning' debut that was released on Chrysalis in '80) & a very welcome first time on CD. This realy is a very good album indeed & one of Steve Overlands best vocally. Not surprisingly, considering the lineup and producer, Wildlife come across as a mix between a less polished FM and a more commercial Bad Co. & you can hear loads of FM influences across this album, due of course to Steve Overlands fantastic voice, which is so unmistakable & Chris Overlands guitar sounds.

Through his work in Thin Lizzy, Ultravox and of course Band Aid, Midge Ure became a household name in the UK. So, when he launched his solo career it was to immediate success with the No 1 hit single "If I Was", taken from the similarly successful No 2 debut album The Gift. This edition is a brand new digital remaster of the album, complete with a bonus disc containing 15 bonus tracks, alternate mixes and live tracks (three of which are previously unreleased).
Versatility has characterized the career of Ari Brown, a Chicago-based reedman and occasional pianist who plays hard bop and post-bop as convincingly as he plays avant-garde jazz. After growing up on the city's South Side and graduating from high school in the early '60s, Brown attended Chicago's Wilson College, where he met Jack DeJohnette, Henry Threadgill, Roscoe Mitchell, Joseph Jarman, and others who would later become members of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM).

Peter Gabriel returned on stage again with a full band, celebrating the 25th anniversary of So. Gabriel reunited with his old bandmates for a selection of shows in September and October 2012 in North America. Peter & the band will perform So as a whole as well as selected old songs.
"It is some two years since the debut album by Shadowman was released (“Land of the Living” ESM098). The album was warmly received by all who had a penchant for good old British melodic hard rock. As you would expect Shadowman had elements of both Heartland and FM deeply embedded in its grooves, yet it was highly original and was often touted as the best British melodic release of 2004.
…This disc offers music that is appealing if not top-drawer, and I recommend it, especially to those wishing to complete their collection of Borodin’s chamber music or explore his early efforts as a composer.
…The jostling arrangements sound intuitive, though the darting solos miraculously avoid collision. Such an overload can be gloriously exhausting. Dynamic pauses recur, always providing adequate breathers between each sprinting outbreak. During the making of this review, I took a break where an old side one might have ended, so overwhelming are this disc's riches. bbc.co.uk
