Six months after the acclaimed vinyl-single “Eweroun”, Falkenbach release their sixth album “Asa”, the Heathen Metal forerunners’ worthy debut on Prophecy Productions. “Asa” is an all-out typical album for Falkenbach and combines elements from all creative periods of the project. It is characterised by a steady flow of both mellow and aggressive passages, blends harsh vocals with clean singing in an almost extinct West Germanic dialect and is once more remarkably epic as well as wistful. With this successful amalgamation of tradition without any clichés and fiery passion, Falkenbach again prove their superiority in the face of trivial “Pagan Metal”.

Wisdom is a power metal band from Hungary established in 2001. Self-titled EP album ‘Wisdom’ came out in 2004. Two years after that the debut album ‘Words Of Wisdom’, followed by the second album ‘Judas’ in 2011. Because of these two excellent studio releases Wisdom received great praise and honor to perform as the opening act on a grand tour of Swedish Sabaton. The third album Marching For Liberty’ came out on the 27th of September through NoiseArt Records.

The 2013 Stax Records reissue of Born Under A Bad Sign offers five bonus tracks in the form of previously-unreleased alternate takes and an untitled instrumental. The first (unused) take of the title track reveals a few differences but otherwise hits every mark as the take that ended up on the album; by contrast, the alternate take of "Crosscut Saw" includes an extra chorus tacked on the end, features a stronger King vocal performance, and all the houserockin' guitar

Pour ce 9ème album, le saxophoniste français Sylvain Beuf réunit autour de onze nouveaux titres originaux, et pour la première fois dans une formation «électrique» : le guitariste Manu Codjia, le bassiste Philippe Bussonnet et le batteur Julien Charlet. Un quartet de choc auquel se sont adjoints pour l'occasion les trompettistes Nicolas Folmer et Alex Tassel ainsi que le percussionniste ivoirien Thomas Guei.

Featuring a killer closing epic in the form of the nine-minute rock-synth-opus 'Razzia', which, coincidentally, happens to also be the name of the album, this 1982 album finds former- symphonic prog teutons Grobschnitt in full-blown, hard, eighties rock mode. Gone are the carefully-created symphonic keyboard passages, fairy-tale jingles and fantasy trimmings, in comes German lyrics and vocals, edgy, metallic guitars and a whole heap of pent-up anger…

Ritter's literate, highly romantic brand of folk has gained him attention on both sides of the Atlantic. Hello Starling, his third album, sees him pushing the boat out further and trying to move beyond the evident influence of Bob Dylan. It doesn't always work: the up-tempo "Kathleen" and "Man Burning", with their swirling organs, clearly carry the mark of Zimmerman, as does the soft and heartfelt "You Don't Make It Easy Babe", a troubled ode to a troubling girl. But this doesn't necessarily matter. Ritter's vocal performances may lack the intensity and weight of Dylan or Leonard Cohen (an equally heavy influence, most evidently on the track "Wings"), but he has a charm and lightness of touch that will endear him to many. Beyond this, it's a real joy to hear a musician attempting ambitious narratives ("Wings", "Bone of Song") where many singer-songwriters cower cravenly behind impressionistic cut-up techniques or, worse still, spatter us with self-obsessed drivel. Perhaps a few albums on, Ritter will truly find his own voice and be considered a real find.
