The legendary Motor City Mad Man, Ted Nugent rode through the USA on the "I Still Believe Tour" and in this amazing show, Ted conjured up an evening of rock 'n roll magic and emotions, pulsating with the American pride he has come to be known for. With a lineup featuring Derek St. Holmes, the original vocalist & rhythm guitarist for the Ted Nugent Band from the 70s, plus Greg Smith (ex-Rainbow) on bass and Dokken s Mick Brown on drums, Nugent is in classic "Uncle Ted" form on this new live release. This man has a rock 'n roll soul like no other. Nugent is pure Detroit Rock & Roll dynamite, infused with a bit of Motown & blues. His guitar playing is superb and mind blowing. The man is a mad talent, no doubt and Ultralive Ballisticrock proves this beyond a shadow of a doubt.

This is Klaus Hess version of legendary Hannover krautrock band Jane. Founding member Peter Panka died as result of cancer in June 2007, which put the band on hold. However, in compliance with Panka's wishes original member Charly Maucher took over as leader and another studio album Traces was released in 2009 with the current lineup of Charly Maucher on lead vocals/bass, Klaus Waltz guitar/vocals, Arndt Shulz guitar vocals and Fritz Randow (ex Eloy & Saxon) on drums plus Werner Nadolny on keyboards. Although Werner Nadolny has since left the band, he currently tours with his own Jane tribute band performing vintage Jane material. Klaus Hess' Mother Jane also remains active with a recently released 2009 album titled In Dreams.

Kestrel released their album of smooth, polished and song-based mid-70's symphonic progressive rock in 1975, and then vanished completely. Some of the most beautiful songwriting ever committed to vinyl. The piano and mellotron are exemplary here. It's typically lumped in with the progressive rock scene, and it is somewhat - but only tangentially so. I can hear parallels with Fruupp's "Modern Masquerades", Sebastian Hardie's "Four Moments", and Dragon's "Scented Gardens for the Blind" - a certain sophisticated AOR sound that is very hard to describe. And this is the best of that lot. This is one of those albums that doesn't sound good on paper, but if you have any tolerance at all for a commercially oriented sound, then Kestrel is a must listen.

The songs reflect many different styles and cultures and are sung by well known artists like Celina Gonzáles and Mercedes Sosa but also from some new singers, never recorded before. Their voices carry a positive message inspired by the past and the present that echoes across the generations. Enjoy.

Former Bourbon Street blues journeyman Bryan Lee delivers a very well-thought-out, and very un-Bourbon Street-like CD—i.e. no standards, rather plenty of originals and a sprinkling of mostly informed R&B covers. Granted, there are some straight blues numbers here, but Lee has, in most cases, pleasingly expanded the parameters. A good example is the inspiration for the CD’s title—”Aretha (Sing One For Me)”—a George Jackson obscurity from the early ’70s, where Lee doesn’t stray far from the original Memphis

With a career that spans over three decades, John Hammond is one of handful of white blues musicians who was on the scene at the beginning of the first blues renaissance of the mid-'60s. That revival, brought on by renewed interest in folk music around the U.S., brought about career boosts for many of the great classic blues players, including Mississippi John Hurt, Rev. Gary Davis, and Skip James.

German hard rock veterans MAD MAX will release their new album, "Interceptor", on November 5 (October 28 in Europe) via Steamhammer/SPV. The cover artwork for the CD was created by Thomas Ewerhard and it alludes to Mel Gibson's legendary desert car in the movie classic "Mad Max".The four MAD MAX musicians promise "full throttle from start to finish" and sum up the direction of their new record in just two words: "It rocks!" Or, as guitarist Jürgen Breforth puts it: "Whereas some rock groups become insipid and balladesque with time, we've taken the opposite route and deliver nothing but pure energy."

Recognized as one of the greatest Baroque composers, his influence during his lifetime was widespread over Europe. Vivaldi is known mainly for composing instrumental concertos, especially for the violin, as well as sacred choral works and over forty operas. His best known work is a series of violin concertos known as The Four Seasons..

…It is fascinating to hear the work played on Bruckner’s own instrument and it works surprisingly well. Some of Rogg’s tempi are as quick as I have heard, particularly the adagio, but they make sense in this context.
