Century Media is pressing a 2xCD edition that includes the same tracks as this release, as well as a second CD of a live performance in Japan from 1997. This release is supposedly "remastered" and features new artwork, but given Century Media's idea of "production", I'd take a more cynical standpoint towards it until the final product is released.

MICHAEL SCHENKER'S TEMPLE OF ROCK features legendary German guitarist Michael Schenker alongside vocalist Doogie White, guitarist/keyboardist Wayne Findlay, bassist Francis Buchholz and drummer Herman Rarebell. The CD marks the first time Schenker and fellow ex-SCORPIONS members Buchholz and Rarebell have appeared on the same album since the classic 1979 SCORPIONS LP "Lovedrive".

The conductor and composer of film soundtracks Hugo Montenegro (New York, 1925-1981) lived essentially his professional career leading his orchestra in the decades of the 60s and 70s. In the mid-50s he began the task of orchestral conducting for Dragon and Caprice labels. Since joining Time Records as a musical director released a series of albums among which is this. Includes ten tracks of Spanish character with the exception of the final tango with an orchestra of over fifty musicians.

Jeremy & Progressor is a collaboration between American musician Jeremy Morris and Uzbekistan native Vitaly Menshikov. Both musicians play a variety of instruments and do an excellent job. Joining the duo are Jon Dawson (keyboards, guitar, bass, drums percussion, loops), Who alumni John "Rabbit" Bundrick (drums), Fromuz mainstay Albert Khalmurzaev (keyboards) and Bill Morris (trumpet, saxophone). If you like '70s psychedelic rock like Pink Floyd and The Beatles you should get a lot of mileage out of this one. This is an excellent album filled to the brim with rich orchestrations, British sounding psychedelia, Beatles style lead vocals and catchy progressive sounds. Fans of The Beatles and '70s music in general should find much to enjoy.

Seven years and four albums later the quartet that is Shadowman consisting of Steve Overland, Steve Morris, Chris Childs and Harry James has scored again. Their album Watching Over You sees the band maturing, producing another memorable British melodic rock album, (a genre that should be massive), which you should be adding to your collection. The album has been mixed by Tommy Hansen who again has performed an excellent job.

Sir Michael Tippett (1905-1998) was a leading figure in British contemporary music of the 20-th century. His 4 string quartets span his entire creative life, and show him as an extremely skilful and innovative composer. In his String Quartets, the most challenging and complicated musical form, Tippett draws inspiration from the late quartets of Beethoven, particularly in his fugal writing, and the intricate and complex textures of the 4 voices. The Britten Quartet already showed their special qualities in British 20th century music, their recording of the String Quartets of Benjamin Britten (Brilliant Classics 9168) won high praise.
