This box is the 2nd of three boxes released by Yellow Dog Records in 1994, as they cemented their status as one of the most prolific and important Beatleg Labels.
This set contains 4 titles, 2 of which would later be released as single disc; "Studio Sessions Feb 11, 1963", later re-issued as "Studio 2 Sessions Vol.1" (YD063) in 1995, and "Studio Sessions March 5 ,1963", later re-issued as "Studio 2 Sessions Vol.2" (YD064) in 1995.
The other 2 titles in this set are unique to this box set - making this a "core" titles.

Steve Jansen's live performance in Tokyo Feb 29th 2008 - filmed in high definition. Live content includes previously unreleased music as well as a live interpretation of the soundtrack Ascent written for Shoko Ise's film installation Swimming in Qualia. Emblazoned on the title page of many an 18th-century Italian opera libretto, “dramma per musica” soon became the name for the operas composed to those words. The name perfectly evokes the fury of passions which the masterpieces of the period captured with such power.

Paul Lamb is one of the leading exponents in Europe of the harmonica. Paul has led many bands over the years and recorded many albums also.
The band which includes bassist Rod Demick, Sonny Below on drums, guitarist John Whitehill and vocalist Earl Green alongside Paul Lamb on harmonica. The Kingsnakes are one of the leading blues bands in Europe at the moment and have recently been inducted into the British Blues Awards Hall Of Fame (alongside the likes of Peter Green, John Mayall & Alexis Korner).

Powaqqatsi is second part of the Godfrey Reggio / Philip Glass "Quatsi" trilogy. With a more global view than Koyaanisqatsi, Reggio and Glass' first collaboration, Powaqqatsi examines life on our planet, focusing on the negative transformation of land-based, human-scale societies into technologically-driven, urban clones.
Composer Philip Glass, went to Peru, Brazil and West Africa to research and develop the score. It is a departure from his earlier works in the use of many indigenous instruments as well as a Hispanic children's choir, and the integration of African, Latin, Indian and Middle Eastern rhythms. Over 90 musicians and singers were involved in the recording of the score.

Kicked & Klawed album by Cats In Boots was released May 26, 2009 on the Rock Candy label. Digitally remastered reissue of the 1989 debut album by this sorely overlooked Hard Rock band.

Demons Down is the third studio album by House of Lords, released on April 7, 1992. It was recorded with an all-new line-up, except for founding members James Christian and Gregg Giuffria, and was the last album before the band's breakup the same year. It is also Gregg Giuffria's last album with the band, as he didn't come back to the reunion of the original members in 2000, although he does appear as a guest on future albums.

I had the pleasure of hearing Barry David Salwen play a snippet of Roger Sessions' work live recently and was impressed. Barry brings to the piano a sense of both passion for the music and respect for the composer, ensuring a memorable, moving performance.
