This quite rare and totally forgotten album was released in 1973 by Transatlantic Records - the label known mainly from folk or progressive rock releases but it certainly wasn’t a good place for the heavy music. The sole Renia LP should be described as a solid, energetic and rather straightforward hard rock album with strong vocals, fine melodies and some progressive influences (almost omnipresent Hammond organ and the mighty mellotron on amazing & truly beautifill ‘Shelter’ track) similar to Stray, Strider and early Nutz. Unfortunately, this badly promoted title went completely unnoticed and the band broke up. In 1975 vocalist Kenny Stewart formed Dirty Tricks which released three fine hard rock records.

This is a wonderful but very underrated debut album from progressive Norwegian Popol Vuh (NOT the more recognizable German krautrock band!), who in 1975 (after two albums) changed its name to Popol Ace. Their eponymous long play was released in 1972 on Polydor label and today is considered by many listeners a progressive masterpiece with slightly jazzy and bluesy feeling, with many tempo and moods changes and plenty of acoustic/electric guitars, Hammond organ, electric piano, mellotron and flute interplay. This carefully remastered CD edition is necessary for fans of early Genesis, Caravan, King Crimson, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Focus & Jethro Tull.

Originally released in November 1969 on small Impact label (subsidiary to Immediate Records) this beautiful concept album was carefully composed and very convincing blend of The Beatles & The Kinks-like pop-psychedelia, vocal harmonies reminiscent of psychedelic era The Pretty Things and The Zombies and early progressive elements of early Deep Purple, Caravan's debut LP and less-known bands like Velvett Fogg, The Fox and Koobas. Within weeks of the band's release the Immediate label went bankrupt and with practically no promotion it's not surprising that this very promising album had minimal sales figures. This carefully remastered CD edition has been expanded with rare single from 1970

'The Disco Pop Years' has 30 (+5 bonus tracks) great tracks on it that anyone from the days of disco will remember fondly! This is the music people heard in the clubs as they danced their cares away on many a Saturday night. The music on this DVD is excellent; and the quality of the sound is also very good. This really brought back memories.

Album released in Argentina performed by the Argentine musician and pianist Jorge S. Arduh (Córdoba, 1924) leading his Argentina Typical Orchestra and singers, accompanied vocally by Marcelo Santos, Javier Di Ciriaco and Carlos Soler. Arduh formed his own group in early 1950. His first artistic tour was made in 1951, and thereafter the recognition as 'fantastic keyboard', 'brilliant rhythm orchestra' and 'Crazy Rhythm' that accompanied him on his great success during 27 years continuously. Arduh took leave of the stage in 2009 at 85 years at the Teatro del Libertador in his hometown.

Album released in U.S.A. that meets only a selection of 10 songs of all for the soundtrack of the movie "The Hunt for Red October' by the American musician Basil Poledouris (Kansas City, 1945-2006 ). This album only offers about 30 minutes of recording time compared to more than 60 of the original 29 tracks. The reason is undoubtedly the content restriction that publication in a single vinyl (LP) imposed and that the CD.

History will undoubtedly enshrine this disc as a watershed the likes of which may never truly be appreciated. Giant Steps bore the double-edged sword of furthering the cause of the music as well as delivering it to an increasingly mainstream audience. Although this was John Coltrane's debut for Atlantic, he was concurrently performing and recording with Miles Davis. Within the space of less than three weeks, Coltrane would complete his work with Davis and company on another genre-defining disc, Kind of Blue, before commencing his efforts on this one. Coltrane (tenor sax) is flanked by essentially two different trios.

R.I.P. is the first album released by the Swiss thrash metal trio, Coroner. This album marks the first chapter of the band's progression (thus it is less focused) and is characterized by raw speed and power (save for the two instrumentals), very typical of thrash metal at this time.

Pinnacle of Bedlam is the upcoming seventh studio album by American death metal band Suffocation. It is scheduled to be released on February 15, 2013 via Nuclear Blast. It is the band's first full length record since Pierced from Within to not feature Mike Smith, instead featuring returning drummer Dave Culross, making this his first full length record with Suffocation and his first release overall with the band since 1998's Despise the Sun.

In past recordings, Chris Potter has dedicated several of them to his heroes and influences, reflecting the diversity of his style and how he loves the tenor saxophonists who came before him. Though the title of this one is Song for Anyone, referring to those who may have passed away in either anonymity or eulogized, this CD is not necessarily dedicated to a nebulous "them." It is played and acknowledged as such directly for Michael Brecker, thus taking on a somber overall tone, accented by woodwinds and strings, making for an at times reflective and humbling requiem for the late contemporary jazz superstar.

An eponymous LP of this very fine, but completely ignored British band was released in non-attractive, but expensive (gatefold & textured) cover in November 1971 by DJM Records - label familiar with the early Elton John titles, but absolutely not with the underground music. This professionally produced album contained an eclectic mix of styles (inc. two ballads and classic ‘Lucille’ clone in heavy blues rock style), but most of the time it was beautifully-arranged, progressive sounds similar to early Genesis, Yes, Procol Harum & Beggars Opera (like lengthy and simply stunning compositions like ‘Welcome To The Soldier’, ‘Classical Gas’ and ‘Guillotine’) with excellent & quite heavy guitar parts, inventive keyboard work & complex vocal harmonies.
