It appeared so symbolic to me that I could not resist the temptation of starting some rumours. However, this motto also entails commitment and rules out every possibility of ‘science-oriented’ rationality. This piece is in fact a kind of ‘Mephisto waltz’, marked by the appropriate compositional consequences. One of the purely instrumental aspects, too, is quite remarkable : two thirds of the oeuvre are played Scordatura (H1 instead of C). This fundamentally changes the ……..

Third album from this English prog metal band. Stating influence from bands such as Dream Theater, Metallica, Opeth and Cynic, Aeon Zen have definitely eased into their own sound, one with as much groove as technicality, and it's in its finest form yet on 'Enigma.' Adds bonus tracks "Survival" and "Time Divine 2.0."

To the black ‘n’ roll/melodic black metal enthusiast, Vreid is a band that probably needs no introduction. Overall, Welcome Farewell is more of a tempered, mature vision of what Vreid were shooting for on, say, 2006's Pitch Black Brigade. There is little by way of modernization here – no formative prerogative that hadn't already been present in those early years – but neither does the group feel inclined to throw in an obligatory blast beat rave up anymore. If it doesn't suit the overall tone of the album (one which is noticeably darker and more misanthropic than 2011's V, by the way) then out it goes. Which is at it should be: there is no shortage of high potency, blast beat-driven purge being covered elsewhere in the genre.

Bill Evans features five separate performances by one of the most revered pianists in music history. This collection covers an 11-year span, highlighting Evans’ ever-deepening artistry as he performs with four different all-star rhythm sections, including the stunning duo of bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen and drummer Alan Dawson. This DVD includes for the first time on home video Evans’ renditions of the rarely performed “Sareen Jurer,” “Blue Serge” and “Twelve Tone Tune Two.” Among the many surprises in this collection is a live performance of “My Melancholy Baby” with saxophonist Lee Konitz.

Bach Collegium Japan and Masaaki Suzuki present their long-awaited second volume of secular cantatas by J.S. Bach. The “Hunt Cantata”, composed in 1713, is the oldest of his secular cantatas. The libretto includes a dramatic plot in which four divinities from ancient mythology appear.

Ladonna Gaines moved from her hometown of Boston to live and work in Munich in 1968, appearing in the musicals Hair and Porgy and Bess. It was during her time here that she met her husband Helmut Summer, their marriage giving her the opportunity to change her name to Donna Summer. Her first big hit was Love to Love You Baby which became an international smash and featured her sighing vocal over a disco beat. I Feel Love was her next major success and along with her screen debut in the awful disco film Thank God it’s Friday, which gained her an Oscar for the song Last Dance, she was now recognised as the true diva of disco. The ‘70s also saw her release the hits MacArthur Park, Hot Stuff, Bad Girls and No More Tears (Enough is Enough) with Barbra Streisand.

The album White was released in 2006, with Alan White, Kevin Currie, Steve Boyce, Karl Haug and Geoff Downes. Occasional live work followed, but Downes left the band given other commitments. The band continued, with a number of replacement keyboardists, including Phil Davis. Former MerKaBa member, Richard "Wayo" Hogan, also worked with them in 2006.
