Wynton Marsalis began studying trumpet seriously at age twelve. During high school he performed in local marching bands, jazz bands, funk bands, and classical orchestras, and at age eighteen he moved to New York to attend the Juillard School of Music.In the summer of 1980, he became a member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and that same year signed with Columbia Records. Since his self-titled debut was released in 1982, Marsalis' numerous jazz and classical recordings for Columbia and Sony Classical have sold over five million copies world wide and he is the recipient of eight Grammy awards.

Fun Fun were a popular Italian Italo disco/synthpop musical group during the 1980s. Their hits included "Colour My Love" and "Baila Bolero".
Producers Dario Raimondi and Alvaro Ugolini teamed up with studio vocalists Antonella Pepe, Angela Parisi and Ivana Spagna to create a bouncy, high-energy, dancefloor-friendly sound. Their first release, 1983's "Happy Station", found success in Italy and other parts of Europe, thanks to several extended versions.

Album performed by the singer, songwriter, musician and actor Ruben Blades (Panama, 1948), one of the great performers of salsa music while one of the great stars of the Fania label. Ruben began to be recognized by the music industry from his musical partnership with Yorker trombonist Willie Colon. He has over thirty recordings, both solo and collaborating with other singers and orchestras.

Album compilation of 20 of the hits who immortalized with their guitars 'Los Indios Tabajaras', the Brazilian duo formed by brothers Herundy and Mussapere. It's known the duo evolution as guitar players, from the beginning self-taught until later in development and training technique. Though undervalued by many, precisely because of that origin, 'Los Indios Tabajaras' universally accompanied us for over half a century (between 1957 and 2009) with a very personal style interpretation of classical and popular melodies from around the world, though preferably Latin music.

Kevin Ayers R.I.P… Goodnight Mr. Ayers…. 5 CD set features his first five albums Harvest; Joy of a Toy, Shooting at the moon, Whatevershebringswesing, Bananamour and The confessions of Dr Dream along with bonus tracks. The Soft Machine, not long after recording their first album and touring America, began breaking up – just the first in a long series of personnel changes and subsequent new directions that formed one of art rock's winding sagas of the '70s. Kevin Ayers was the first to leave, mostly because of that American tour, and he soon became one of the first acts to release music on Harvest, a new progressive label from EMI that promised to offer the best and brightest in the new vanguard of British rock.

The National University Library in Turin houses several extremely important musical collections. Among these are those of Mauro Foa and Renzo Giordano, containing over 450 manuscripts of Vivaldi, many of them autographs. With the purpose of exploring this immense heritage and bringing to life many unpublished works, the Instituto per i Beni Musicali in Piemonte and Naïve [Opus 111] with the collaboration of the Library in Turin, have undertaken to record a complete edition on CD of Vivaldi scores held in Turin.

Recorded live at the Egg Farm, Saitama, on 10 September 1995. One of the great soprano saxophonists of all time (ranking up there with Sidney Bechet and John Coltrane), Steve Lacy's career was fascinating to watch develop. Lacy, who is considered the first "modern" musician to specialize on soprano (an instrument that was completely neglected during the bop era), began to turn toward avant-garde jazz in 1965. Lacy, who had been suffering with cancer for several years, passed away in June of 2004. His legacy continues to grow, however, as various live shows from throughout his career are issued.

Australian melodic metallers LORD will release their new album, "Digital Lies", on February 22. Stated LORD mainman Lord Tim: "For this release, we thought long and hard about other options regarding labels and, frankly, it's a mess out there. The larger labels are doing everything they can to protect their revenue and are being very cautious about who they deal with, and the smaller labels are at the mercy of a very volatile and changing market, and you can never be sure they'll be still in business once the time to pay up comes around. We've unfortunately had to wear the consequences of that in the past."

Great King Rat released a spectacular Melodic Hard Rock album in 1992 to universal acclaim. Hard driven melodic rock but always catchy. Their first album is more and more considered as classic.
