Al Di Meola’s latest release, “All Your Life” is an acoustic tour de force that has him revisiting the music of the Beatles. A virtual one-man show of virtuosity, it features the guitar great interpreting 14 familiar Beatles tunes in the stripped-down setting of strictly acoustic guitar.

Palms is an American rock band that formed in 2011. The group features Deftones' vocalist Chino Moreno and three members of the post-metal band Isis: bassist Jeff Caxide, drummer Aaron Harris and guitarist Bryant Clifford Meyer.The group's self-titled debut album, which was originally expected to be released in 2012, will be released on June 25, 2013 through Ipecac Recordings a label that was co-founded by Mike Patton (Faith No More, Tomahawk) and released many of Isis' albums. Palms was self-recorded and self-produced by the band members at various locations.

In a relatively short time frame, Chicago guitarist Dave Specter has found his way onto the blues equivalent of the fast track. Just over a decade ago, the towering guitarist with the carefully coiffed hair first made his presence felt as a good-natured bouncer at B.L.U.E.S., a Windy City blues mecca. Now, he's got six acclaimed albums in the Delmark catalog, every one a satisfying, challenging mix of blues (Specter lists influences including T-Bone Walker, Pee Wee Crayton, Magic Sam, and Otis Rush) and jazz (Kenny Burrell's another of his main men).

Great quality film for it's age. The pop video in it's infancy and all the more charming for it. Some great songs and some hilarious fashions that had me laughing out loud…

When Say Hi to Your Mom released his brilliantly titled third disc, Ferocious Mopes, the sensitive-indie-guy-recording-from-his-bedroom thing had been done to death. So had well-intentioned tinkerings with the Omaha sound of Conor Oberst. Nevertheless, what Say Hi offers here is just froot loops enough to skirt cliché charges. The ten song titles say it all – after puzzling over "Poor Pete Is a Bit Self Conscious," "As Smart as Geek Is Chic Right Now," and "I Think I'll Be a Good Ghost," it's easy to wonder whether Say Hi might be using music to pay the bills until he finds a way to make money off his real gift for naming things.
