Freiburger Barockorchester (Freiburg Baroque Orchestra) is a German orchestra founded in 1987, with the mission statement: "to enliven the world of baroque music with new sounds". They are based in Freiburg im Breisgau, hence the name, and have recently started performed works by later composers such as Beethoven, Schubert and Weber as well as contemporary music.

Work by Mexican pianist, arranger, conductor and composer Fernando Zenaido Maldonado Rivera (Cárdenas, 1917-1996), alias Fred McDonald. Fernando worked extensively as artistic director and arranger while pianist. As a composer proved a huge creative versatility, composing ballads, boleros, cumbias, waltzes and especially in his creations highlighting ranch-style, among which was outstanding 'Volber, volver'. This album includes twelve songs performed on piano and dedicated to the music of Mayab, original name of the territory now called Yucatan in Mexico.

New York Jazz Trio is a combo only dedicated to studio recordings since 2001 and specialized in classic jazz standards, playing in a simple post-bop style. Three musicians based in the U.S. East Coast, pianist Bill Charlap, bassist Jay Leonhart and drummer Bill Stewart. This album features ten songs selected from the great American composer, Irving Berlin.

Manhattan Transfer's third album and second for Atlantic, Coming Out, showcases the talented singers (Tim Hauser, Alan Paul, Janis Siegel, and Laurel Masse) on a strictly pop affair. The only hints of jazz pop up on "Scotch and Soda" and a funky version of "Poinciana" on which Michael Brecker has a cameo on soprano. There is a good amount of variety and the singing is reasonably and impressive.

Dallas Toler-Wade, guitarist/vocalist of the death metal band NILE, has launched a new project called NARCOTIC WASTELAND.NARCOTIC WASTELAND's debut album will be released mid-January 2014 .NARCOTIC WASTELAND started as a side project Dallas had been working on for the past few years when he was not touring or in the writing/studio mode with NILE.

Swedish quintet Dead By April’s third album Let The World Know sees a change in their line-up, but no change in their melodic metal sound that has become synonymous with the Gothenburg band.Scream vocalist Christoffer Andersson replaced founding member Jimmie Strimmell early in 2013, but he duals with clean singer Zandra Santiago in effortless fashion.Dead By April fans won’t be disappointed with Let The World Know, but they probably won’t find anything new either. The mix of metalcore, alternative metal and electronica, which sometimes feels more like treading into dub step waters, is clearly where Dead By April feel most at home. The thing that has always set them apart is their knack for writing catchy hooks and great choruses, and in that sense, you can consider their third album a success.

The great composer of piano music Nikolai Medtner also wrote three violin sonatas (and other works for the instrument), two of which are recorded here. The ‘Sonata Epica’ is, as its title suggests, one of the most ambitious and colossal works in the repertoire, and without doubt one of the most important violin sonatas of the twentieth century. It draws deeply on Medtner’s Russian heritage, with intimations of orthodox chant and folk dances. Its continual syncopations show why Medtner was fleetingly regarded as one of Russia’s most progressive composers during the first decade of the twentieth century, yet also contrast with an essentially conservative harmonic idiom. The Sonata No 1 is more understated and reminiscent of Fauré.
