Album by the American singer and pianist Sarah Lois Vaughan (New Jersey, 1924-1990) originally titled 'Copacabana' outside Brazil. It is one of the last she launched in her solo career. This was the second album dedicated to the bossanova after 'I love Brazil!' (1977). The music scene of the play offers a vocal 'vintage' of slow jazz and bossa enough for an evening of just over half an hour.

From the notes: "Richter's achievement is often to shake off the accrued bad habits of tradition and to look at the score anew –often revealing a wealth of fresh insights. The clarity that is such a trademark of Richter's style -clarity of phrase, counterpoint, pedalling- also contributes to a rounded picture of the work at hand. Richter's insights are not, it should be stressed, those of formal, academic musical analysis, about which he is scathing: 'I detest analysis, which kills fantasy and which is the enemy of art. … Enough with musical blah-blah; music speaks for itself.' No, we must, in Richter's case, speak more vaguely of a remarkable intuitive grasp of musical organization, and an equally remarkable ability to communicate it at the keyboard." THE UNGUIDED – the new band featuring founding brothers Richard & Roger Sjunnesson and former members of Sonic Syndicate – release a highly dynamic and electrifying Melodic Death Metal album. "Fragile Immortality" features highly infectious melodies combined with metallic heaviness and turns songs like "Blodbad" or "Inception" into hymns of a new generation. The centerpiece is undoubtedly the vocal duo Roland Johansson & Richard Sjunnesson, who also branded the trademark sound of SONIC SYNDICATE. The new songs were mixed and mastered at the legendary "Studio Fredman" by Fredrik Nordström & Henric Udd. "Fragile Immortality" breathes new life into the Melodic Death Metal genre and furthermore sets the band’s course to become one of the big players in the music world.

Rock / Experimental Rock / Jazz Rock

Aside from the experimental side project Lumpy Gravy, Hot Rats was the first album Frank Zappa recorded as a solo artist sans the Mothers, though he continued to employ previous musical collaborators, most notably multi-instrumentalist Ian Underwood. Other than another side project – the doo wop tribute Cruising With Ruben and the Jets – Hot Rats was also the first time Zappa focused his efforts in one general area, namely jazz-rock. The result is a classic of the genre. Hot Rats' genius lies in the way it fuses the compositional sophistication of jazz with rock's down-and-dirty attitude – there's a real looseness and grit to the three lengthy jams, and a surprising, wry elegance to the three shorter, tightly arranged numbers (particularly the sumptuous "Peaches en Regalia").

Tchaikovsky's four suites for orchestra don't have the structural heft or the emotional impact of his seven symphonies, but they are lovely. For the listener who savors the Russian composer's specific sound world but is not in the mood for being emotionally overtaxed, these suites are just the thing. The first two are collections of character pieces, the First with its Divertimento and Intermezzo, the Second with its Valse and Danse baroque. The later two are more substantial, the Third with its extended series of Variations, and the Fourth with its heartfelt homages to Mozart. This is ideal light Tchaikovsky.

Magnificent, now disbanded, Swiss neo progressive group found in 1989 by the original members of their first album ''Hologram''. This work was released in 1991 and it is obviously built around the style of Marillion and IQ… yet there is a strong amount of beautiful melodies and thrilling solos in here to make the album more than a remarkable effort! The unique keyboards' atmosphere, the strong guitar lines and the personal vocal style of singer Aluisio Maggini makes them quite original…. Mostly short songs with a typical song-format, but Clepsydra seem to be the top band in this kind of catchy progressive rock. A fantastic debut for fans of lyrical and emotional progressive rock! ~progarchives

The great Swedish tenos saxophonist, Bernt Rosengren, is a frequent visitor in Copenhagen, and hardly a Copenhagen Jazz Festival passes without the opportunity of hearing him either at JazzCup or one of the other small and unpretentious venues where Bernt enjoys playing jazz. Just like the man himself: quiet and unpresumptuous, not someone to flash anything -except his love of the music which has filled his life for the past half century- and even this is done quietly. And despite his life-time art grant form the Swedish government, jazz has never made him rich.
