Premiered in 1932, Feinberg's First Piano Concerto was not warmly received and it is no wonder why. This is not happy music nor is it particularly pleasing to listen to, compared to the buoyancy of Prokofiev or lyricism of Rachmaninov. Feinberg's 33-minute concerto is extremely dreary, and purely expressive of angst and conflict. RED STONER SUN was formed in september 1998. Psychedelic, always rockin ', never endin', this program had Red Stoner Sun long written on the flags. In 2002, it seemed then, as if the endless desert trip would have found an abrupt end. Eleni Karaindrou’s collaborations with stage director Antonis Antypas have generated some of her most powerful music. Medea, like the earlier Trojan Women, comes out of this association. Recorded at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, the music vibrates with emotional intensity. Karaindrou gives her themes to a small ensemble, its sound-colours creating an ambiance both archaic and contemporary, as textures of santouri, ney, lyra and clarinets are combined and contrasted.

The best type of music is adept at throwing curve balls. The surprise was nevertheless immense when at the end of the track Words from Californian psych-rock band Sleepy Sun's fourth studio album Maui Tears, the distinct tones of cricket commentator Henry Blofeld rolled out of the speakers: "And after a scintillating innings, the batsman nears his century."

Earlier this year, the group performed some of their best-loved songs acoustically with a 12-piece band, across three sold out shows at London's legendary Porchester Hall. The response from fans was overwhelming and led to two sold-out nights at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles in October, described by Billboard Magazine as one of the finest and more memorable shows in EDM history.

The pianist, composer, arranger and conductor Günter M. German Noris (Lower Franconia, 1935-2007) is a reference in the world of ballroom and dancing competition music. This album offers twelve hugely popular topics drawn from great musical of movies or theater ('My Fair Lady', 'Cats', 'Grease', 'The sound of music', 'Evita' or 'Cabaret' among others), adapted in each case for the exercise of different dance styles, both standard and latin.

This album brings together the only recorded sessions that Chet Baker and Bill Evans shared, together, yes, but with other great musicians as Herbie Mann, Pepper Adams, Kenny Burrell and Zoot Sims among others. The records were held in New York in two sessions during 1958 and 1959. Whoever possesses the records 'The lyrical trumpet of Chet Baker' and 'Chet Baker plays the best of Lerner & Loewe', already has fourteen of the fifteen tracks on the album, except for the bonus in which the pianist Bob Corwin replaces Evans ('Almost like being in love').

From the notes: "The Beethoven Sonatas Claudio Arrau [1903-1991] played on his tours during the last thirty years of his life were selected. The most frequently played were Opp. 10/3, 27/1, 53 and 81a plus, of course, Opp. 109, 110 and 111. There were also a few performances of Opp. 7 and 31/3. Thus, there was considerable interest when Arrau restored the sonata Op. 2/3 to his active repertoire in the 1973-75 season. … Amongst the solo works of Brahms, he played only the Haendel Variations, Op. 24 until in his 70th year when, for the 1972-73 season he brought the Sonata Op.5 into his repertoire" Notes by Peter Warwick
